I took friends here for lunch, following a recommendation. It's a strange and not friendly place. Shortly after we sat down the owner, or manager, or some such authority brusquely asked us to move our car, indicating it was parked facing the wrong direction, and later stating somewhat meanly that this had never occurred before. Rather rude. The menu is... More

At one time, the Dunbar Tea Room was the only place to go for Afternoon Tea on Cape Cod. It was a cozy, little cottage where you could sit in the wood-paneled library and enjoy a wonderful cuppa. Now it's no longer the Dunbar Tea Room, but the Dunbar Restaurant and Wine Bar. The wood-paneled library is still there, but... More

What a pleasant lunch. If you enjoy a peaceful lunch with a friend with a unique menu I highly recommend. I felt so relaxed and love the tea selection. Service is spot on. Deserts look amazing but did not have any.

I visited the restaurant with a friend on Valentines day. The food was beautifully prepared. I ordered the fish and it came out of the kitchen steaming hot. Definitely order some of the loose leafed tea which is served in its own individual pot. Be sure to save room for dessert! The dessert table is a sweet lover's dream!

The tea room is a pretty building set in a pretty garden. We called in the afternoon and enjoyed tea and scones. They were very good and the service was prompt. Before we left we were in conversation with a student and tutor who were the first arrivals for a small party. As we talked, the food for their party... More

After many visits to Sandwich we finally went to the Dunbar Tea House. What a delight! Although a little on the pricey end, the ambiance, service and food were all excellent. So sorry we didn't visit sooner. If you are looking for comfort food I have to suggest the turkey sandwich which is served with a generous side salad. Tea... More

The restaurant is beautiful inside and out, and it looked like a great place to stop for lunch. The food was only average. The sangria was so watered down, it was without taste. The salmon cakes were not as advertised, but did come with several accompaniments on the plate, such as baked beans which were good. However, everything was very... More

The atmosphere was lovely, the food was good, the service was excellent. The prices, especially for the afternoon tea was too high, at $19.99 for four little finger sandwiches, one little scone, four tiny cakes and a pot of tea. This was for one person. It was my son's birthday, and he wanted a tea, so I payed the price.... More

My husband and I stopped in on our way home from a day trip on the Cape. We arrived a little after 4:00pm, sat at the bar and enjoyed soup, cheese platter and wine/beer. The service was attentive but not intrusive. Our shrimp/corn chowder and turkey chowder was delicious and perfect on a cold and damp afternoon. The cheese platter... More

A friend raved about this place. I couldn't wait to check it out. Just moved to the area, it is located across the Grist Mill. Looks like the gardens would be wonderful in the Spring and Summer. My main issue was the service. It took us over 2 hours. I don't like to be rushed, but this was crazy. It... More
