This is my favorite place on the cape. The seafood is outstanding. Harbor side dinning in the back. Family owned and work hard to make your experience a delight.

Save your money. Went there and for a high price received frozen food. We were not happy at all. Won't go back.

I decided to order the clam chowder on the back of a friend's recommendation and ended up with my husband ordering it and me wishing I had gone for the (big) bowl instead of the cup. It is unbelievably good!!!!! The rest of the meal was ok but the cc?? Go and experience a little piece of heaven!! :)) The... More

The chef is now Ellen's granddaughter, and what a good job she is doing. The restaurant has a great location right by the harbour with views of the water from the dining room. We both had great a clam chowder and a lovely lobster roll and the best fries we had during our stay in Massachusetts. Service was good too.... More

Our first impression: not so great. We requested to be seated at a window table that still needed to be cleaned. The hostess was borderline surly about it but we didn't back down. She later became friendlier when I found a lipstick mouth on my water glass. Yuk. The veggie burger was quite good and so were the sweet potato... More

We stopped for lunch after shopping on Bear Skin Neck. It was a simple looking place, nothing fancy, simple furnishings, but excellent harbor views. We asked for a window seat, and the hostess was quite accommodating. We ordered 2 cups of chowder, seeing that they had received several awards for it, over the years. It was tasty, filled with tender... More

There was no line or wait on a busy Saturday night at other restaurants, not a good sign. Service was slow and poor. We got Lobster BLT, fried clams and clam chowder. The chowder was warm, the broth was fine but there were few clams. The Lobster BLT was good, the fried clams tasted fine but for $26, there should... More

Out and about touring Mass. And stopped the day in Rockport which is a truly lovely chic little arty coastal village. Saw Ellens restaurant around lunchtime and decided to give it a try. What you see is what you get. Good honest basic food, certainly not cordon bleu but genuine wholesome good food probably like your Mum used to serve... More

Very disappointed. Service was great but food was not good especially for the price. Fish and chips were little pieces and did not taste fresh. Scallops were so so for $28. Macaroni and cheese for child was Kraft out of the box. Hard to rate low because the waitress was excellent but have to because food was sub par.
