Strolling up and down Commercial Avenue? Then visit the Portuguese Bakery for pastry, a sandwich, and coffee. Tight space, lots of patrons, but worth the squeeze. You can sit inside, or take your munchies down to Macmillan wharf and watch the boats and ducks. Reasonable...More

This was one of the best places to get a good breakfast. The ham and cheese croissant was so good I had to go back twice.

Very average food. Soup was salty, grilled sandwiches were boring. But did have a lovely caramel creme dessert.

The Portuguese deep fried treats called malassadas are to die for! The dough is fried until golden brown, then tossed in cinnamon sugar. The best breakfast I've had in along time.

This is a place u must visit. It was delicious. I got a fried dough with sugar ---the best i have had (and i have had a lot of fried dough treats). Also had a meat pie (similar to an empanada) that was very tasty...More

Wonderful, delectable and Rich desserts! Lunch was reasonably priced for ptown but you get what you pay for. Very disappointing Portuguese soup and a tuna sandwich with about 2 ozs of tuna. Fries were good.

I think the proprietors were having a bad day. No smiles, curt to the edge of rude responses, and argumentative when I pointed out that their "pastéis de nata" were not fresh. The pastries were from a day old and apparently I should have known...More

Visited Provincetown for the day, was keen to try the egg custards as this is one of our favorite desserts, not disappointed, they were very good. As others have mentioned, they are a little pricey, but I view that as a cost of the location...More

Natas is the traditional Portuguese custard pastry...2.50$ each if I recall correctly. In Montreal they are 1$ each and much better, but I understand the location and the monopoly , so what ever, I still enjoyed them. The feta and cheese croissant was also very...More

Our service was great and the food was also great! We had a variety of desserts and they were all delicious. I would recommend going to the Provincetown Portuguese Bakery. The eating area was okay. If it wasn't night time, we would have rather eaten...More

I believe there was a dog in there when I was there but it is a very tiny bakery and there is a spot to tie a dog up outside if you're going in to grab something quick.

The history of Provincetown’s Portuguese Bakery is nearly as shrouded in mystery as the recipes for its famous pastries. While everyone agrees it has been around “forever,” no one seems quite certain of a date. One of the... More
