I'm a local diner and have eaten here many times. On the plus side the food is usually fine, not great. My big issue is the value. I get farm to table, local ingrediants and paying for quality. But tonight was ridiculous. First, there were no appetizers that were at all appealing except for the Charcuterie board. Everything else was... More

Atmosphere is wonderful and very relaxing; service was outstanding with a friendly and courteous staff, especially the bartender Jeremy and our server Julia, made the experience even more enjoyable. Food is amazing!

Burger and Chacuterie are awesome. Rest of food is just overpriced and eh. Service is good at bar, but stay away on weekends.

A three story brick building with exposed beams and tables outside provides lots of atmosphere . The food is eclectic American bistro. Good quality but not fancy. Oysters were fresh and local. Duck was cooked perfectly. We sat at the copper topped bar and enjoyed the wine list that included lots of interesting and affordable choices. The bar staff were... More

We have usually appreciated and enjoyed the food at Ceia. We were there this past weekend for the first time in a while and and weren't impressed. We did not have a reservation and expected Ceia to be busy. It was surprisingly slow when we arrived on a Saturday night. Many open tables and open seats at the bar. They have... More

Went for drinks and apps on a whim with my spouse. Drinks and apps were very overpriced for the quantity! Paid about 75 for a couple of drinks and apps. Bar tender ignored us and spoke with the only other patron (young female) at the bar. Will not be returning to this over priced, underwhelming restaurant.

Menu was limited, service uneven on a Sunday night. Prices were high for what you received. Salad was the winner. Had bluefish. Was diappointed. Haddock was good.

We stopped here after a day on the beach because it was the only place with open outdoor seating. The service was prompt and friendly with a very professional wait person. The wine selection was very good but no value-priced wines by the glass. We ordered the Octopus and Calamari appetizers. They were beautifully presented although the portions were very... More

I've been to Newburyport now twice and ate at Ceia last time for dinner and this time for breakfast. It was phenomenal. Service was friendly, prompt, professional and I felt well cared for. The menu for both dinner and breakfast was interesting and I felt like I wanted to eat multiple items! We shared the pastry basket which had peach... More

Where laughter is required. Jacket & tie are not. Going out with friends or a special someone means choosing a neighborly place that feels as comfortable as home, where conversation flows as easily as a smooth cabernet. Welcome to Ceia Kitchen + Bar. A new kind of nightlife in the heart of Downtown Newburyport, introducing this area"s first extended kitchen hours for later night dining or tete-a-tete cocktails with flavorful small plates. Our exposed brick interior with mellow lighting, cozy banquets and featured cocktail bar beckon even impromptu visits to this reliable neighborly eatery where singles, dates and a posse of good friends are assured of a comfortable night out with delicious food and great company. The spirit of Ceia (pr. SAY-yah) is in the translation of our name: "supper" in Portuguese, the language of one country included among the inspiring stops of our coastal European culinary repertoire.
