Four of us came for brunch/lunch. We are not drinkers and so were not attracted by the cocktail and wine selections. We had a difficult time deciding what to order as the menu was very interesting. The waitress tempted us into starting by sharing their...More

Visiting Newburyport with family. Needed a lunch place but had 2 children ages 4 & 7. Looked on Open Table and Ceia's had ample choices for the adults as well as a children's menu. Pleasant atmosphere, good food and terrific service. Enjoyed it!

We arrived pretty late and this restaurant was one of the few still open. Great seafood and $1 oysters. Right in town and minutes from the hotel. Very cozy with a friendly staff. We both had the halibut and it was great.

Book well ahead for dinner on Saturday night! This is a popular place. We'd never been and were delighted. A very upbeat atmosphere, but you didn't have to shout to make yourself heard -- something that's getting harder to find! The server knew the wine...More

The place is just lovely, but the menu is very expensive. We had appetizers and drinks here. The appetizers were ok, but not really for the money spent.

Dinner on a Saturday night is not my favorite way to try a restaurant for the first time, but I went ahead and gave Ceia a try this weekend. I'll be back! The ambiance is lovely, if you are partial, as I am, to exposed...More

They were hosting a bday party upstairs so we sat at the bar. The service was extremely slow and the food was bad. The bartender returned the wrong credit card to us twice and didn't give us an itemized receipt but by that time we...More

Candace - sorry you were disappointed with your experience but after reading your review with you staff- my bartender remembered having you at the first floor bar. To our understanding you didn't order any food. I imagine by saying bad you actually ate it. Can...More

Very small and quaint setting. The food is excellent and the menus is up scale. We go for special occasions just us.

I don't know if the restaurant is open for Easter. As for nut allergies, I think the kitchen would be very attentive to any special requests or needs. There were not any dishes that I remember having peanuts. Almonds... More

Where laughter is required. Jacket & tie are not. Going out with friends or a special someone means choosing a neighborly place that feels as comfortable as home, where conversation flows as easily as a smooth cabernet. Welcome to Ceia Kitchen + Bar. A new kind of nightlife in the heart of Downtown Newburyport, introducing this area"s first extended kitchen hours for later night dining or tete-a-tete cocktails with flavorful small plates. Our exposed brick interior with mellow lighting, cozy banquets and featured cocktail bar beckon even impromptu visits to this reliable neighborly eatery where singles, dates and a posse of good friends are assured of a comfortable night out with delicious food and great company. The spirit of Ceia (pr. SAY-yah) is in the translation of our name: "supper" in Portuguese, the language of one country included among the inspiring stops of our coastal European culinary repertoire.
