Had the Mediterranean salad with the creamy champagne sauce. It was magnifique! The staff were really nice and if I had room I definitely would have had the apple pie. Nice for out door or indoor dining.

Very busy restaurant, so make a reservation. Outside dining on a covered porch is available. Beef tenderloin and seared duck with carmel sauce were both cooked to perfection and tasty. A foie gras terrine with toast was a decadent appetizer. Great wine selection. Helpful, friendly...More

The menu is rather limited, but the food and preparation is very good. The portions are ok, and the prices moderate. Unlike the Nudel restaurant across the street, they make a living not a killing.

This place is packed for good reason. The food is fresh, delicious, with large portions. We were a large party and had a reservation.

We shared a tarte tatin and foie gras for an appetizer. It was incredible. I had the best duck breast dinner have ever had, and husband had a swordfish special. This place was worth a short drive and I would definitely visit again if in...More

Had lunch here, the food was okay, nothing really that interesting. The portions were huge (but you can ask for half portions of at least the salads), and I just wasn't that impressed. For a wine bar, I also wasn't impressed by it's by the...More

Basic menu with surprisingly good flavor. Much of the food is locally sourced and it makes a difference in everything from eggs to greens.

Alta is a good go-to restaurant for locals and tourists alike. Although the menu is a bit off for me, whatever I have ordered has been well prepared. Lunch is the best bet, especially on a nice day on the front porch.

Fresh ingredients, well prepared. The wine recommendation was spot-on. Service was friendly and prompt. This is a very popular place -- for good reason.

Fresh and inventive menu and delicious food. Good wine list and eating on the patio/porch is delightful. Best food in Lenox!

They have a separate room often used for larger (5 or more) groups, but it is not private. There will be others seated there as well. It is used as a private space for larger groups, as many as 20.
