This has been one our go-to places for years when we are looking for something different and homey in the area. It's a simple place; reminds me of an ethnic restaurant you might find in NY. Menu is fairly large and everything is always well prepared and presented. My last meal here was the pescado en salsa de camarones which... More

It was a cold, dark evening in December 2016 when I agreed to a second date with a gentleman, who shall not be named, at Alpamayo. I had never had Peruvian before, so this was a new experience. It is very warm, and very inviting inside. We shared some pleasantries and started in with the Ceviche Mixto, which was some... More

My wife and I stopped here for dinner around 8:00 on a Friday night in December. The restaurant was nearly empty. The service was warm and friendly, though a bit slow. We enjoyed the chicha morada, which was available by the glass or pitcher. We shared the beef heart appetizer which was very tasty. My wife had a seafood soup... More

Our reunion dinner held here last Saturday was excellent. We were 17 and ordered about 7 courses for the group when reserving. Served family style were Ensalada Alpamayo, (yummy) Ceviche Mixto, Ceviche de Pescado, (especially well received) Papa a la Huancaina, Plantains, Tallarina Verde con Bistech, another Tallarina dish. Service was attentive, not rushed, and the food brought many fond... More

My husband and I split the seafood ceviche as an appetizer and it was great!! We mentioned we like spicy food and waitress said we get get spicy version. Worth it! Also split seafood paella for dinner which was also good.

Thank you Tripadvisor for helping us find this gem of a restaurant. We were on the road and needed to stop for lunch. Had an excellent meal here. Also, the best Sangria I've ever had. Food is really good. Ask the waitress (she might have been the owner too) what to order. We did and were very happy with everything.

I've visited this restaurant two times now, and it was delicious both times! I am no Peruvian cuisine connoisseur, but I can tell you that if you're looking for a filling and flavorful meal, here's your spot. I've tried various dishes, including the rice dishes, chicken, salmon and, most recently, the Pescado en salsa de Camarones, which was very creamy... More

We are gluten-free and don't eat meat and had such a tasty dinner. The ceviche and paella were delicious. The yuca and plantain sides were fun and different side dishes. Even the beans and rice were unusual and scrumptious. The service was very pleasant and fast. We will return!

I'd never eaten Peruvian food before, and having sampled this, I'd be happy to keep coming back. I had their giant shrimp (prawn) soup with quinoa, poached egg, beans, in a lovely cheese-flavoured broth, tasty and milky without being too rich. There were six enormous prawns. The portions are very large, so this big bowl was even too much for... More

Hadn't been back since last summer. Went on Tuesday and it was packed but they will take reservations. Most of the friendly staff were still working there. Informal. Moderately slow but very pleasant service. Food great. I love the Peruvian seafood soup (spicy) served with rice (to be added to the soup). It is I meal be itself. My wife... More
