These are year in and year out the best fried clams on Boston's North Shore. The quirky yet quaint looking restaurant is typical of a fried seafood place. Wait in line to place your order, then they call your number when ready. They do take...More

Okay, since the restaurant doesn't mention this important fact on their website, I'll tell you - DON'T GO AT 2:30, DON'T GO AT 2:30, DON'T GO AT 2:30 Although we went on a Sunday afternoon, we thought it safe to try the place at 2:30...More

I have heard about this place. I have read about this place. I went to this place. I was disappointed in this place. When I am paying $28.25 for fried clams and it's called a Large I foolishly expected it to be filled, as in...More

Everything looked the same from the outside. Ordering ok. Waiting for the food gave grandchildren 25 cents for York peppermint paddies. Food comes out small portions for the price. Onion rings small and to my taste over cooked. Haddock was good but small portion. The...More

We go there every year. It is a must for anyone liking fried clams, scallops, shrimp, etc. And Ipswich is a great place. Get there early, the line is out the door but moves fast and it is worth the wait. No steamed lobster but...More

They just have the best, crispiest, tasty clams I've ever had. Bring cash or pay the ATM fee. I think they change the oil daily at 2:30 so plan accordingly. Expect a line unless you eat in the off hours.

We have been coming to the North Shore for years and always make this a stop for their great fried clams! This time we arrived at a quiet time, but there can be a long line. A big canopy over the outside seating area is...More

Believe the hype...the Clam Box is as advertised and very much worth A visit. Our party of four opted for the "full-bellied" fried clam platter. Heed the warning: the Clam Box stops serving for fifteen to thirty minutes to filter the fryer oil...all in the...More

We passed this restaurant whilst going to Crane's beach. There was a huge line. We therefore thought it must be popular and good. On our way back from the beach we stopped by to try it out. It was a take away but they had...More

I haven't been here in 10 years since leaving New England. When my wife and I came back for the first time on vacation, the Clam Box was my first destination. The Fisherman's Platter is still big enough for two people. The food is delicious!

No , they do not, unless things changed since last year. Their seafood is out of this world, although it is expensive but worth it. We ordered it to go, and took it back to the hotel we stayed at, and ate it there, with beer... More
