Excellent chowder, the food was OK, not great. I ordered lazy lobster, I received all claws, not 1 lobster tail, usually lazy lobster is meat from a whole lobster so I can assume from a can, really??? 4 people, 4 drinks, 4 meals, 1 appetizer the bill came to $240.00!!!! That is ridiculous!!!! This restaurant is obscenely overpriced. With all... More

We had a great dinner I recommend the diver scallops. Also the clam chowder is a must. It's the most unique and flavorful I've had definitely a top five pick in the Northeast.

The food was excellent, but a bit overpriced, perhaps because they're located on the water and ferry terminal and can get away with it. The service was well intended, perfectly nice waiter, but lacking in finesse; delay being seated despite empty tables, water glasses not refilled promptly, service slow in spite of it being a slow off season night. They... More

Had a visit to the Black Cat over the weekend The whole staff was helpful and provided great service and a wonderful meal. From appetizers to dessert the whole experience was enjoyable. We arrived with a group of 5 and everybody had something different for lunch. The soups/chowders were all yummy, and the fried seafood was also a hit. While... More

Came here last year whilst visiting the Cape. On the strip of the docks in Hyannis it is a lovely outdoor eating establishment. Bustling and lively. Superb freshly cooked food. I had the crab cake burger, it was absolutely Devine and my husband had the clam strips. Staff are very friendly and efficient. Would highly recommend!

The Black Cat Tavern is located on the Hyannis waterfront/ Harbor, and their advertising of “casual dining” is spot on. It was an unfortunate occasion that had me in Hyannis one late afternoon in late October, and I took advantage of its proximity and my urge for fried clams to venture over to the harbor and The Black Cat. I... More

I was visiting with a friend just before they closed for the winter. My friend ordered an Espresso Martini and asked for it a certain way. The female bartender seemed a little unpolished, but then again it was end of season. She didn't think I saw her take a sip from my friend's glass before she served it. Bartender wanted... More

We have it on good information from several locals that The Black Cat has the best Clam Chowder in Cape Code. In fact their chowder won the 2016 Cape Code Clam Chowder cook-off! (Don't really know what contest they won but they took it this year.) I can attest to the fact it was some of the most flavorful chowder... More

It was a nice Saturday and we went to see a jeweler in Hyannis .When we were done my wife and I decided to find a place on the harbor for lunch. After a quick check to see what places were open we decided on the Black Cat ( a place I used to go to when I worked in... More
