This is a family run restaurant in Hull. One is always greeted with a smile and the service is excellent. There are no bad selections and the sushi is fresh. Fantastic drink menu also. We try to make it there every few months. Everyone need...More

What's the saying about getting ripped off? If it happens to me once shame on you, if it happens to me twice, shame on me, if it happens to me three times... I'm an idiot?....I almost got ripped off for the fourth time at LA...More

La Dalat has decent sushi. A rarity on the South Shore. It is a small place on Nantasket Beach. The atmosphere is very casual, with pretty good service the majority of visits. Aside from the sushi, they have a great Rice Hot Pot and Pan...More

I ate here on a Sunday evening in January which may account for the unsatisfactory meal. Would another day of the week be better? My meal was adequate at best. And the service was rushed and completely indifferent. Perhaps it was just an off night.

We were looking for a new local restaurant and the Trip Advisor reviews seemed promising. The premises are very attractive. We had 2 appetizers. The "traditional spring rolls" came out overcooked and it was nearly impossible to cut through them. The Japanese appetizer was fine....More

I really like the ambiance of this restaurant - its feels like "upscale" dining, even though it's Asian, and it's not particularly expensive. White tablecloths, excellent food choices and preparation, and good wine add to the experience

My wife and I enjoyed our dinner tonight very much! Dalat is always dependable with great food and excellent service. We arrived and were told that the wait for two could be 30-60 minutes. I checked in the bar and we found two seats by...More

There are many languages that use the word la, all with varying meanings. Vietnamese is a beautiful language with a rich history. Here is a little information that I hope sheds light on any confusion over the name or menu. La - means to shout, scream Là - means "is", iron, silk Lá - means a leaf or a collection of letters/envelopes (lá thư) Lạ - means strange or unusual Lã - means a type of water/liquid Lả - means tired. NOTE: The Sino(Chinese)-Vietnamese words are words originating from Chinese but used in the Vietnamese vocabulary. Some words in Vietnamese have several meanings as a result of Chinese using Characters to differentiate. Sino-Vietnamese comprises up to 60% of the Vietnamese language incredibly. Not many people know this. Also note: Vietnamese is a tonal language; the meaning of a word depends on how high or low your voice is. Vietnamese is not related to Chinese, though it contains many loan words from Chinese due to centuries of Chinese rule in Vietnam, and even used Chinese-like characters as its writing system, called "chữ Nôm", until Vietnam was colonised by the French.
