South Africa meets India in a magnificent fusion of cuisines. We were advised to stop here by friends on our way to Provincetown. We were delighted that we did as we would easily have driven by. With the warm welcome we received we knew we had made the right decision on a dark late November evening. Starting with the Combo... More

My daughter was working at the local wildlife sanctuary and suggested we have dinner at Karoo. The menu definitely has some off-beat choices. We were very happy with ours. I orderd the bobotie, a traditional dish described as a curried meat loaf. It really wasn't much like what I might have expected, based on that description, but it was very... More

After a bad experience at another restaurant, we left and went to Karoo on October 9th for dinner. We were looking for a restaurant with healthy options on the menu and that was not all seafood. Food was amazing and the service was impeccable. The hostess was friendly bringing us to our table. Our waitress was very friendly, asked if... More

From the samosas to the malva pudding - they were the closest I have had to the food I've eaten in South Africa. The samosas reminded me of those we have purchased on the street in Cape Town and the malva pudding was just like my cousin made. Each member of our group of 4 tried a different main dish... More

Have driven past Karoo many times but always skipped because my kids are not adventurous eaters. So sad we didn't go earlier because everything we tried was delicious - samosas, monkey ribs, peri peri shrimp, Durban bunny chow. We will definitely be back!

The appetizer sampler was amazing, and every item tasted fantastic. For my meal I got the traditional meat loaf dish, simply because the menu made it sound the most authentic. However, I don't want to leave this review and make anyone believe that it's anything like meatloaf. It's not. I did look up the dish and it was made properly,... More

Start with the peanut-carrot soup on a cool day. Follow up with a generous-sized appetizer (Indian pakoras and samosas, veggie plate, for example), then move on to excellent Monkey Ribs (actually pork ribs) or falafel or a variety of stews and vegan/gluten-free dishes. This is the place to take your visiting vegan friends or relatives. The outside patio is great,... More

It's been a while since I dined at Karoo, set-back in a quiet complex off the main drag in Eastham...so much so that going there recently with friends felt like the very first time. Overall, this restaurant has an atmosphere of real fun and I'm not so sure how they've achieved that, but why analyze it? It takes the fun... More
