Hi Michael Thank you for your review. I fear that the gentleman you encountered was not myself as I have been giving the reasons to our visitors as to the reason behind the suspension of our food service. I must apologise if you found my staff member rude. The lease at The Shroppie is changing hands imminently and that is... More

A lovely place to stop off for a bite before or after taking a stroll by the canal and into the village.

We visited the Shroppie Fly today and were pleasantly surprised..under new management again, this place has had its ups and downs recently but we thought we would give it a try... So glad we did..the carvery was delicious with giant homemade Yorkshire puds.... Can recommend it...

I called in on a Sunday lunchtime a few weeks ago and the aroma of the food as you entered the building was fabulous. I decided to give the new management a try and had the carvery... Absolutely as good as it looked. Excellent value for money. The food was full of flavour. Since that day I have revisited twice... More

At last... a pub where it is equally comfortable to eat and/or drink under one roof. Pool and beers or evening meal with the outlaws, all good here. Very nice dining area with carpets and log burner, nice. Our food was as tasty as the ale and that was very nice.Staff very knowledgeable and helpful. If you fancy a canal... More

Met a friend for lunch and the food quality was exceedingly good. Give the chilli beef a try you wont be disappointed. The new manager has clearly upgraded everything from customer service to culinary delights.

I haven't visited this pub for nearly 30 years, so it was nice to call in. I know it is totally different in the summer as it gets busy due to it being right on the canalside. But, for a cold wintery evening it was quiet with just a few locals in. Walking past the carvery, it looked really nice.... More

The Shoppie Fly is a beautiful local pub situated right alongside the canal running through Audlem. In the warmer months expect to see dozens of canal boats moored up alongside the pub giving it a real beautiful country feel. Seating areas outside overlook the canal and fields, and are a couple hundred metres away from the road so there is... More

A vast improvement on earlier in the year. An iconic pub in a wonderful setting working very hard to rid itself of its previous poor reputation and reviews. The beers (real ales) are in superb condition especially the Doombar.
