Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Beet salad and swordfish were excellent. The swordfish was fresh off the grill, just the right temperature, tasty and moist. Waitstaff was great too. Also liked the grape nut pudding which we shared around the table - not your mother's good-for-you dessert. Nice ambience.

Scargo Cafe is a great place for lunch or dinner. Open every day. The waitstaff is always friendly and service is seamless. The food is excellent! You can’t get better oysters than theirs….East Dennis oysters from the nearby Cape Cod Bay. Their now-featured special of...three sirloin Italian meatballs served accompanied by three different sauces, tre-colore, like the Italian flag…tomato, bechamel and pesto, are simply marvelous! Cooked perfectly with nice properly done onion, you can cut them with a fork, and they are delicious! Can’t wait to go back and have them again (I hope they put them on the menu full-time!). Their “Mongolian Pork Chop” is always fabulous…they do this pork chop as well as the originator…Mustard’s Grill in Napa. A great dish! Tasty French Onion soup; three salads that you can have half-portions of; nice craft cocktails, draft beers, and reasonably priced wine (and food!). Nice real fireplace atmosphere in the Tavern, dining inside and out in-season, including a nice covered/screened porch. Their grape custard dessert has been written up in food magazines….also delicious! Plenty of menu choices to please different palates. This is a real-deal consistent place to dine! You can’t miss at the Scargo Cafe!More

What a great early dinner for a Sunday night! Scargo was PACKED when we arrived for our 5:00PM seating on a recent Sunday evening - thankfully, we had made reservations! Despite the full-house we were seated fairly quickly at a very nice table. Our waitress,...Hannah, promptly introduced herself to us and took drink orders (she was pleasantly attentive throughout our meal). The house bread with butter is always a nice start, but perhaps just a bit more butter, please. We started with the Oysters Scargo, which were very fresh and huge! Our three entrees were: Steak Frites, Chicken Carbonara, and the Mongolian Pork Chop. The steak was done to perfection, tender, juicy and full of delicious flavor. The Chicken Carbonara had just the right amount of creamy sauce and the chicken was flavorful not just bland chunks of meat. The Mongolian Pork Chop had a mustardy sweet taste, served with mashed potatoes and a wonderful purple cabbage. Really, the entire meal was delicious and we would definitely go back!More

It’s a legitimate 3. In my opinion, no better no less. Everything was absolutely mediocre last two times we went. Got the steak frites yesterday and the steak was terrible. Tough, chewy, flavorless. But everything else was mediocre so I’m gonna stick with the 3...stars instead of 2 because our waitress was great, and I still think the decor is pretty good..More

Wonderful restaurant housed in a lovely Captain’s house. We had oysters scargo, crispy salmon and seafood strudel. All were delicious. Great service too. Remember to order the grapenut custard for dessert.

This was one of the best meals we've had in a long time. We arrived a bit early but we're seated immediately. Our waiter was great. Warm crusty bread and butter started our meal. The warm roasted beet salad on microgreens with walnuts and blue...cheese and homemade balsamic dressing was exceptional. We also shared the crispy spring roll wrapped salmon with a Lyonniase potato tart, roasted broccolini and fabulous fresh dill caper creme and seafood strudel with shrimp, crab and scallops in puff pastry, mashed Yukon gold potatoes, roasted vegetables and Newberg sauce. A dependably excellent Erath Pinot Noir complimented it all. We thought we might have dessert but couldn't manage it. There were also other enticing selections!More

Always a delicious meal at Scargo. Weather was perfect to sit on the porch for our lunch. Our waiter was personable and meal was delicious. The Reuben was so big, we split it and had plenty. A very large sandwich. Another in our party had...an Asian fish sandwich which was enjoyed. We have always had nice, flavorful, quality meals at this restaurant. It is one of our favorite places to eat while vacationing on Cape Cod.More

I can’t recommend this place enough. Went for dinner with my son, had reservations, and was seated right away. Had the delight to have Joseph as our server. Extremely professional, and provided us with great service. I had the scallops, and they were the best...I ever tasted, my son had the seafood pasta Primavera, which was also quite good. The lemon curd cheesecake to top it all off was outstanding. Next time I’m at the Cape it’s my go to place.More

You got me there. I saw several families with young children dining there but I didn't notice if anyone was having burgers. Their menu is on the Net just Google Scargo Café to check out their offerings...
