We scheduled a relatively early dinner, and the atmosphere was great with service that is unparalleled. The food was very good, if not perfect. The real drawback was that we did not know about the stairs and would have reserved a table downstairs had we known. There is a tight circular staircase to the upper level and one of our... More

Oh, what can you say about a place whose heyday was back in the '60's. Still a beautiful property, in the woods but dinner got off to terrible start by being forced to Valet park (money grab) even though there were many spaces right in the main parking lot. Weird. The food itself was extremely overpriced. We had a $140... More

Entered the bar/restaurant area and were seated near a roaring log fire. Scallops and salads were enjoyed but the 'Croque Madam' had thick slices of tasteless brioche with equally tasteless cheese. There was also a mix-up over the wines ordered but the atmosphere was very nice which made for an overall enjoyable experience. I'd give it 3 and1/2 stars if... More

To start, I really like this place. Great patio and perfect location after a walk along the canals. My wife and I sat on the patio with the dog and after several minutes a waiter arrived. We said we were very thirsty and needed water desperately. Also asked for water for the dog. The dogs water arrived right away. However... More

Valentine's Dinner, Sunday, February 12! We decided on a 5:30pm reservation for our 1st time at Old Angler's Inn. The drive was picturesque going down to Potomac on Falls Road and MacArthur Boulevard. The restaurant was easily seen from the road. On entering one may check ones coat. The dining atmosphere was romantic and cozy. One could have a nice... More

It's amazing how a Manhattan is the easiest drink to make, yet 9 out of 10 bartenders can't do it right. Old Anglers Inn nailed it. Awesome environment, outstanding food, amazing staff. And a perfect Manhattan! Very happy customer.

I wanted to celebrate my daughter birthday. A special place for a special occasion. The food, the atmosphere, the service is excellent, not to forget the great fireplace. The price is very reasonable for such of classic and high end restaurant. This restaurant is every seasons restaurant, the patio, the garden is very comfortable. I will highly recommend The Old... We went to Old Anglers Inn for a "going back to college" family dinner last week. Sadly I was very disappointed with the meal and dining experience. When we were seated, we indicated that we wanted to look at the drink menu. But when the waiter returned he was all ready to take our meal orders. And, then we waited,... More

This is a lovely spot right off of the canal. Tucked back in the woods. Great menu, nice wine list, fine food. If you are going on a date this is the place. Bring roses. Might just close da deal!

The restaurant is in a nice old building with a great fireplace inside and a nice firepit outside. They have a happy hour. The food and service wasnt as impressive as the building. Perhaps a better place for lunch than dinner.

Description
A most charming dining spot, the Old Angler's Inn has been immortalized in countless Washington D.C. novels as a romantic winter getaway, sitting before the fireplace and perusing the menu. It is equally glorious in the summer when the main action moves to the incomparable terrace.
