What use to be known as The Masthead is known known as Doc's Sunset Grill, owned and operated by the folks that own and run Doc's Downtown in Easton, Maryland and other locations. Doc' Sunset is a noisy venue especially on weekends and holidays. It's...More

What could be better than cracking a dozen jumbo crabs at a table right next to the water? Can't wait until they reopen for 2017 season!

Delicious meal with a spectacular view of the harbor at sunset. It's not a fancy place but it has all the charm that made our dining experience unforgettable.

The restaurant is hidden away in a great riverside location. There is nothing fancy about the restaurant but it is notable for being the location for filming of the movie "Failure to launch". The menu has most of the typical riverside meals including steamed crabs...More

Food was good, service slow at times but usually good. Been here several times and Val the bartender is excellent. One of the owners is usually there and open to comments.

a large group of our family went to Masthead last Thursday night and they treated us very well! We sat on the patio and enjoyed the beautiful view. Several at my table said their fish and chips was the best they had ever had since...More

In a posh town like Oxford, this place should be better. Food is--well you don't come here for that. The lumps of crab on the salad were broiled. They looked brown and old because of that. The so-called cornbread croutons were deep-fried and seemed like...More

The saving grace to this very average lunch was the wine list! The food appeared to have been frozen, not fresh! I am sure that there were better places available. We just chose the wrong one!More

Mary- Thanks for being kind about the beautiful location and wine list, but ouch, what did you have to eat? I will say that we have some items that come in frozen- French fries for one, but we do not serve frozen food items as...More

I ordered the "lump crabmeat" crab cakes. There was one small piece of lump about the size of my little fingernail......I guess if I wasn't born and lived on the Eastern Shore of Maryland all my life I would have believed it to be lump!...More

First night in Oxford and we ate at the Masthead. The food was very good and the location on the river was great. Watched the sunset from our table.

After 13 years serving you at the beautiful waterside at The Masthead, we must say good bye. We have shared so many wonderful memories with you; Birthdays, Rehearsal Dinners, Wedding Proposals, Engagement Parties and so many sunsets that we will never forget. We entertained a few celebrities, Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew McConaughey to name drop a few, but you were the reason we loved being there! We have been serving Oxford and its visitors since 1991 and we plan to continue! We will be serving lunch and dinner at Latitude 38 and we will open our new outdoor courtyard in the early spring! We invite you to check out our new website and our every changing menu at Latitude 38. We also invite you to inquire about our expanded catering services that will be a part of our new chapter! Thanks again for all of your support through the years and most of all the memories!! Thanks to all of our wonderful staff that worked side by side with us through the years, some of you already at Latitude 38!! Gretchen Gordon and Wendy Palmer and the great staff of The Masthead at Pier Street We feel very blessed!
