Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Wonderful cosy and quiet place a bit in the country side. Great food and welcoming service. We can recommend the lamb and fish.

Read the reviews so thought would give it a try as we are fairly local. The food was average, steak in baguette frugal and chewy, the fish overcooked, salad was limp and very little of it and most items had run out on desert menu-...not at all what we were expecting.More

I think this is our 4th visit to this wonderful pub. Amazing food. The staff are very friendly, and keep their heads when it gets extremely busy. Will definitely visit again when we are in the area. Can’t recommend it enough.

I have some family lineage (Palk) in the region, including Little Hempston, so my wife and I rented a car and thought we'd stop in at Tally Ho pub there for lunch and a drink before visiting a few more stops in the area and...spending a lovely week in Devon. We're from Canada and this was our first visit to the region. Tally Ho was the best food and best pub atmosphere on the two-week trip. Nice people, friendly patrons, and Betty (dog) keeps a good eye on everything and doesn't mind a good rub behind the ears. A hidden gem. After two weeks in England, Tally Ho is top of the list.More

The Tally Ho had been recommended to us by some friends who live nearby and so we went and what a treat it was! We were made most welcome by the very friendly owners and the food was fantastic! Certainly a cut above what most...pubs serve and the wine was also excellent. Also the pub is very dog friendly. We will definitely be returning.More

Kiaora! Back at this pretty village pub for lunch. A proper pub. Real ales. Doggy friendly. Log fires. Great food. A community pub. Friendly locals and still run by lovely couple back in the UK from Aotearoa. 🇬🇧🇳🇿

It isn’t easy to come across this hidden treat by accident, but we managed it and we are so glad we did. We had a fabulous mid week lunch and we would thoroughly recommend it to anyone. Only a 5 minute drive north of Totnes.

We are a walking group and arranged to have lunch at the pub. Kelly couldn’t have been more helpful. We parked in the car park and were able to pre order our meals from the menu. . On arriving after the walk they were very...welcoming and everybody enjoyed their meals. We will certainly be calling there again.More

Very happy to post a review for the Tally Ho. Unfortunately for us, having moved to the area 4 years ago, this was the first time we visited the Tally Ho, but it certainly will not be our last. We loved the ambiance of the...pub itself, a place to go for either a drink with friends or a delicious meal. The food was superb, the staff were very welcoming and friendly. If you live in the area or are visiting and haven't been to the Tally Ho you should try it, you will not be disappointed. It will not be long before we return.More

We came across this beautiful pub whist driving from a one night stay on Dartmoor. Upon entering we received such a warm and friendly welcome from Mike and Kelly that we decided to stay for lunch. We opted for a Game Pie and Chicken &...Mushroom in a tarragon Sauce . Both meals were absolutely delicious , coupled with great Ale & a nice choice of wine . A fab , comfortable , welcoming pub. This really did make it the perfect end to our much needed break I cannot recommend this place enough ! A must visit We will be back 😊More

We called in on the off chance. They were very busy with a 80th birthday party and other diners. But they said if we weren't in a rush they would try to fit us in. Which they kindly did. And the food was lovely. Give...it a try you wont be disappointed. But I would advise you to book.More
