While looking for a place to have lunch in Ellicott City, we were recommended The Judge's Bench. The menu was small but had some good appetizers listed. We ordered several items from the appetizers first. The soft pretzel and quesidilla were both tasty. We especially liked the steak fries with cheese gravy. We then ordered sandwiches and burgers. The Reuben... More

Great rotating beer selection. There is always something new to try. Place is small and cozy. I go as often as I can.

Great Beer Selection. Their Wiskey selection has over 200. We did not have time to eat so unfortunately I can't say any thing about the food. Great Pub.

The Judge's Bench is one of the long time mainstays of Ellicott City's Main Street, located at the top of the hill across from the wine store. They have a fantastic beer selection, both on tap and by the bottle. Their real pride is their Scotch and Whiskey selection, and they have a large menu just for that. Their are... More

On Sunday afternoon I stopped in the "Judges Bench" for the first time for a quick lunch. I was greeted by the owner, Mike Johnson who knew everyone in the Pub by their first name and made me feel like I was a long time customer. I mentioned that I liked craft beer and Mike quickly gave me a introductory... More

Great family run place, terrific food, huge tap beer selection, friendly and knowledgeable owners and could be the best selection of whiskies in the state! Almost 300 different kinds. Inside tip - get the warm pretzel bites! Its in a hundred year old tavern. Plenty of parking across the street. Went there on a Saturday for a privet baby shower,... More

We stopped in for a drink before dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant. The place was so great we stayed for a second round. This is normally a quiet spot and our bartender was the only employee working. She unexpectedly had a group of 35 stop in. She was so calm and composed and took care of everyone in a... More

Could be and amazing little dive bar.... could be. This "off-Main Street" watering hole offers a great selection of beers and bourbons, but that's lost in the layout and cramped quarters. Lots of amazing beers on-tap, including a Sierra Nevada Bigfoot IPA - both 2015 and 2016.. much like a winery. lol But this is lost in that the beer... More

A friend highly recommended stopping in at the Judge's Bench for a beer flight. We saddled up to the bar and ended up staying for several hours until a great live band showed up to play. For a hole-in-the wall bar, it was clean, friendly, and the food was good. My boyfriend ordered a terrific burger, and I tucked into... More
