This was a lovely restaurant in Chestertown right on the water. We had $.50 wings and beers. Very good and accommodating service. Food was tasty. The service was great. Awesome gluten-free cake! Thank you for serving gluten-free food.

I was a little hesitant about visiting after reading other reviews but our family crew of 6 were very happy. We had three grandparents, my husband and myself, and a teenager and there was something on the menu for all of us. We all ordered something different and everyone was happy from soup to salad to the meatloaf. We were... More

We went to The Fish Whistle twice during a recent visit to Chestertown. Both visits were in the afternoon, and we got our food to go so we could sit outside and enjoy the view of the river with our dog. On the first visit, the fish and chips were really good, with generous portions, so we decided to go... More

Ate outside on the covered patio overlooking the water, a great setting. Our server was wonderful- was very nice and very accomendating. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I had a beet salad with goat cheese and candied nuts, it was fresh, but lacked flavor. Our server steered us away from two of our original entree choices. Take from that what you... More

Visited on a Wednesday evening for dinner. Service was good, but the food was terrible. We both tried fried oysters. They were heavy and greasy. The accompanying potato salad was tasteless as was the cold slaw. We were expecting a lot better from a nice place on the water.

There have been several restaurants in this location, all capitalizing on the waterfront location. The latest arrival, Fish Whistle, continues the tradition of offering local seafood in a casual setting. The menu mimics most Eastern Shore fish shacks with a standard selection of fried fish, crab dishes and combinations. Nothing that we tried was outstanding or close to gourmet quality.... More

I have been here twice and both times have had a wonderful experience. The food has been great and reasonable. I have had the wings with homemade blue cheese dressing, the salmon with mashed sweet potatoes and sauteed spinach and the wedge salad. It was delicious. My friend had the chicken ceasar salad and enjoyed it very much. He also... More

The food was good but it wasn't fantastic. The restaurant can be loud and very busy. The views of the water are fantastic.

Cold beer, good food, and a great view on the river. Crab dip with the pretzel bread is highly recommended!

My husband and I were staying at a nearby Bed-and-Breakfast for his birthday and I wanted to have dinner at a restaurant that'll complete the package. This was definitely the place. Not only did we get a corner table, outside/waterfront, but Paige, our waitress, was excellent. The calamari was delicious, and we enjoyed the salmon. If back in the area,... More
