The best place we ate while we were on vacation! The chips were light and airy as well as fresh! The salsa could have been better, a little blah and you need to add cilantro. Our dinners were good, but the outstanding thing was the...More

we had diner here with a party of five. We had different menu's and everybody was very satisfied with the food served. The atmospere is maybe not as intimate as you would expect in a mexican restaurant, but then this is America. We've enjoyed ourselves.

Have eaten at Uncle Julios's so many times, I have lost count. The fajitas are amazing! Now they have added a chocolate piñata!

The chips alone should rank this place as less than average, but given it's location devoid of genuine ethnicity, they get a break. The chips approach the texture and taste of Lay's. Doritos would be an improvement. Atmosphere was pleasant and drinks are tasty. It's...More

Busy Mexican restaurant. They will customize you guacamole at your table for you and have good food portions. Waiters are very friendly. Will get louder than usual if busy. Large open floor plan. A must have if you like to dabble in the dessert menu...More

I have also visited the restaurant in Atlanta and decided to see if the food would be good here. I was pleasantly surprised to find the food was very very good as it was in Atlanta. The service (Sean) was extremely good, he was very...More

It's texmex. It's hard to screw up right? Well maybe not, but it's hard to completely ruin. This place is a step above dumps like Chevy's and On the Border, but not unique or outstanding in any way. But it's probably the best Tex Mex...More

Amazingly, this noisy family friendly restaurant has a menu with calories indicated on ALL items, including their margaritas. Meals are big, so choosing a carne asada which is indicated at 450 calories...was easy since asking the waiter, he told us it was a full 10...More

We weren't expecting much when we ducked into Uncle Julio's the other day for lunch. We thought that maybe, just maybe it would have retained enough of the old Rio Grande Cafe quality to make it alright. So the first rate meal and terrific service...More

We like Uncle Julio's, which is called Rio Grande in Bethesda. It's quite noisy though as restaurants seem to be nowadays,so we eat outside or in the bar. We have always found the service to be good and think the food is tasty. The portions for the frijatas are huge and we always split one so it's a cheap night for us. One tip - the big mixed grill platter is especially huge. It says it serves 2 or 3, but we always get it when there are 5 or 6 of us. Plenty of food and comes out to $11 per person - a real deal.
