If you need the real deal, and your Italian friends from NYC ask where to go for a take out Italian cold cut sub on real bread, or staples for a dinner menu at your house, this is the place. Modest, more like a store than a restaurant, but will have what you want.

Great italian cold cut sandwiches, 6 lor so pizza slice varieties available by the slice and a cooler filled with wonderful imported meats cheeses olives and other condiments. Vace stocks a small selection of wines, a large variety of oils, vinegars pastas and irtalian canned goods. They have fresh home made pastas buffalo mozzerella balls made fresh daily and even... I absolutely love the pizza and sandwiches here. I've been eating at Vace for almost a decade and their food is great. The have delicious pizza and tasty sandwiches at a reasonable price. The added bonus is that they have some Italian grocery products that are hard to find elsewhere. I highly recommend this place.

I don't get it. Others claim to have eaten a great sandwich, but that is not what I was served. Ordered the Italian- salami, mortadella, ham, provolone on a hard roll. I have never been a mortadella fan, so requested them to leave it off and just add more salami. That request was refused. Bad start. Sandwich made to order... More

Tucked off of Wisconsin Avenue, on Miller St. In Bethesda, is an authentic Italian Delicatessen. Pizza by the slice or a whole pie. The crust is just right! My older son is a huge fan of their Canoli. Have not yet tried anything else from their menu, but I can't wait to!! This small storefront, is for carry out only.This... More

Had a mixed Italian, and grabbed some chips and beer from the store next door...great dinner! Definitely a carryout place, with a corner market atmosphere.

Bethesda is now a hot spot for trendy restaurants serving mussels, craft beers, a hot new fusion this or that. You get the picture. Vace is a constant -- real Italian pizza, real Italian take away foods you cook or warm at home, real Italian grocery items. I discovered Vace when looking for real San Marzano tomatoes for my Sunday... More

I have been coming here for decades although I started with the one on Connecticut Avenue in DC near the zoo. I have been using the Bethesda branch for 20 years or so since my grown children live in the area. Why do I go? Terrific food very inexpensive don't miss this gem

Find it, go to it and order great pizza, all things italian - all take away, but parking is a real challange. Have someone go with you to wait in car if no spaces, but go!
