We were visiting our son in Bethesda on 4/15/17 and went here with son, daughter and boyfriend. Only after we were seated with menus, did the server inform us that the taps were not working and they only had bottled beer or mixed drinks. It would have been nice to know this before we were seated, as several of us... More

Two couples and a baby for lunch last week... we had trouble finding someone to seat us outside. It did not appear to be a couple people's job to seat folks. Once we got our table, our server was very attentive, and the food was good.

So I was visiting my family in the Washington DC area and we decided to go to the Bethesda area for some good eats. Instead we ending up at the American Tap Room. It was one of the worst restaurant experiences in my life. It has been about four (4) months since my visit and I still can't forget about... More

There are many options in Bethesda for food and we randomly chose the Tap Room. Great choice!! We enjoyed breakfast in the afternoon (there is no bad time for breakfast after all..) They make some great grits here, as well as perfectly done eggs, bacon and fantastic sage sausage. Great service-never once had to ask for a refill- it appeared... More

The tap room burger was very tasty with a quality patty and crispy maple bacon. The beer choices were adequate and the service was friendly. Good vibe overall. Would come back to have the burger and try a few other dishes. Surprised it ranked so low considering the other options

My family visited this restaurant on a Friday night. No wait line to get in. The atmosphere is relaxed with a large bar, flat screen televisions, and gas fireplace. I ordered the burger sliders with a side salad. The burgers were cooked to perfection and the salad was fresh. They make their own sauces and dressings on premise. My husband... More

Lots of beer to choose from. Happy with their IPA selection. Ordered a burger and the roll was dry and burger over cooked. Should have sent it back and replaced with another beer.

Went here a few weeks ago for the first time after being in downtown Bethesda for a work event. Nice atmosphere and good selection of beers and other drinks of course. Would definitely return.

This could be the worst place on the planet, I don't even know how they stay in business in a competitive market like Bethesda. The service was terrible and the food even worse. This is no place to try or even consider going too. Awful.

Our office took to American Tap Room for our holiday lunch this year -- we've been to most of the local landmarks, but not here. Caveat: I'd been here before and gave it 3-stars. Giving it 3 again - though if it were just for food - it would be 2.5. Our food was - just ok. Our party had... More

This is American Regional Cuisine at its classic, pub-inspired best. The food is fun and what we like to call “approachable”. You’ll also enjoy some twists on the classics with taste-inspired ideas like our Dirty Caesar Salad and Greek Turkey Burger. At the American Tap Room we believe in using local ingredients as much as possible and, yes, everything we serve goes well with beer. Ranging from weekend brunch, to a casual lunch outing or an after-work gathering in our bar, each dining experience is uniquely enjoyable. Enjoy your time with us on our outdoor patio, inside by the fireplace, or by booking an event in our private room.
