Although I grew up near Bethesda, I now live in Michigan. We started going decades ago, and now we go here three to four times a year. As regulars, we enjoy the delight the owner takes in slicing the perfectly cooked duck at the table. Although the duck is our favorite, other dishes and specials are outstanding. Much of the... Ever since Kwouk Cheung opened the China Village, I have been a fan. I lived all over the country but would always be back for our family Chinese Christmas dinner, which we have done almost every year since 1981. The Suffering Bastards are wonderful, and our whole family (9 this year) toasts our annual get together with them. Make sure... More

Really good food! Great quality ingredients extremely well-prepared. The salt and pepper shrimp were fantastic! We'll be back to dine in soon. We could tell that there were many regular customers.

This was my second visit here. The food was great, but the service was horrible. I ordered "Mai Tai", and it wasn't the same as last time. It wasn't fruity as it is supposed to be, and it didn't taste right. My kids ordered the "non-alcoholic virgin pina colada", and it was not good. It tasted like pre-made pina colada... More

We live within walking distance so we often enjoy Shangai Village, whether we go there for dinner or pick up take-out food to eat at home. The food is not sensational but very dependable. You can't go wrong by eating there.

Been eating there for years. Took my fiance there and now she is spoiled and won't eat Chinese food elsewhere. All foods listed here are sure things. The food is FRESH and flavorful.

I was introduced me to this restaurant during a recent visit to Washington DC and we ate there on two occasions. The food is extremely fresh, and each dish (including egg rolls, dumplings, etc.) are prepared to order. You may have to wait a little extra, but it is definitely worth it. We had the Empress Shrimp, Moo Shi Pork,... More

This place is excellent and always has been they don't put the money into the restaurant they put money into the love of the food and how they present. I've been going here since the 90's when it was China Village as well and a different owner. Nancy and her husband / owner/chef are wonderful people. Whenever I've had to... More

I like one thing here - their ginger chicken - it's fresh and appealing. The moo shoo pork comes in second. But the place always looks a bit dirty and worn (tired).

Having been regulars here before moving to Charleston, SC several years ago, the dearth of real Chinese food in a city otherwise known for fine dining was truly worth a detour for us on a recent trip to DC. Walking in and seeing the daily specials, we were past thrilled to see soft shell crabs written on the board. Going... More
