Here is the thing about The Bridgeway...it's old school. We are bar people and they have a cute little bar. They pour a strong drink at a great value. They have an old school but decent beer selection. The service is A+. It feels a bit as if you are headed back in time, most of the clientele is old... More

This restaurant reminds me of years ago! The food was good, consistent....the wait staff friendly and responsive. The interior dated but comfy. Definitely a family restaurant, not pretentious.

Stopped by here for a late lunch during the weekend and were the only ones in the restaurant. It seemed slightly dated but clean and welcoming. The food was your basic family restaurant fare with a fairly good-sized menu. The food well prepared and the portions were just right. Certainly not a destination restaurant but if you're in the area... More

This is an old great place to go for a casual evening and a reasonable priced home cooked style meal!!! We go once a wk and know we can count on a nice evening! This is a jewel in disguise!

I just started working in South Portland, and I am blessed to have the Bridgeway Restaurant right across the street. Great menu and great prices. Thanks! Amybeth Hurst

Haddock was "hard", perhaps previously frozen? Pastrami was greasy! Wait service (Jesse) is excellent. Food prep leaves much to be desired. Usually food is better and more carefully prepared.

Me and my girlfriend thought we'd try something different for lunch. I'll be straight to the point and say this is the worst restaurant I have ever been to in Maine. We walked in and we sat up at the bar and the place is very quiet but with 3 other people. One person working on the front end. I... More

Been a little while since I last visited this restaurant. Different seating - more in the bar area. Food is still good and the prices are still reasonable. Went on a recent Friday night. The place was about 75% filled at 6:30 at night5 and we were seated quickly.

Portland is known as a foodies town. Good if you need your food to look like some artistic creation, to have endured some bizarre methods to make it look like something entirely different, or need everything to be "beautiful." If so, there are restaurants that come and go monthly that serve you. We've lived in Portland for over 30 years... More

One of those places that foodies won't appreciate. It's been here forever! You can always get a solid meal at a decent price. Nothing fancy. Service is erratic/hit or miss, but always friendly. Seafood is consistently good. Italian favorites the same. Decent drinks at reasonable prices. Lots of local character and flavors. No pretense, nothing fancy. When I want a... More
