Garside's has been at the same site forever. It brings back memories of the dairy farm that provided the milk that was first used in the ice cream. The windows open just in time for the Mother's Day clientele who come to celebrate the day and initiate the Spring to Fall season.

I almost think when you grew up in Maine and around the area this was a regular event for most families. I like to go because of the atmosphere and that old time feeling. I will say, although they have great flavors, their portions have gone down to rather small. Still good, but not some place you would go to... More

Garside's is a great old ice cream stand that's been there as long as I can remember. We always stop on our way out to the highway, to go home at the end of our vacation. The ice cream is great, and the service too, even when the customers are lined up at the window! It's a great place to... More

Reasonably priced, delicious ice cream. Old fashioned roadside stand brings back happy childhood memories.

This is a must do every summer we visit Ocean Park/OOB. Homemade ice cream, served with a smile. So many wonderful Maine flavours to choose from...try them all!

Nothing fancy but the home made ice cream, which says it all. Try the mocha chip and almond joyous. It's a drive up with nostalgia for baby boomers and older. Buy some to take home too.

Just be grateful a few of these places still exist. If you are going to eat ice cream, eat good ice cream. Seems 20 or so flavors, and good sugar cones. Skip the store bought and have a treat like you had when you were a kid.

Homemade ice cream with good flavor and creaminess. I like that they have weekly specials. I wouldnt say it was a must return but I wasn't disappointed. If i was invited to go back I would. About 13$ for 3 med. (2 scoops) deff not overly generous portions.

We read about Garside's ice cream in the Portland newspaper while staying at Old Orchard Beach on an annual mother-daughter holiday. It wasn't far from us. I ordered the grapenut ice cream, a vanilla base with the cereal throughout. You might think that boring, but the ice cream was delicately vanilla, light, and tasted like it was without all the... My grandparents started bringing us here over 60 years ago. Even though has changed ownership 2 or 3 times since then the quality ice cream and extensive choices continue on. Best homemade ice cream I'ever had!!
