We had dinner here and ordered twin lobsters because the second one was only a few dollars more. The lobsters were served with potatoes and corn on the cob and were hot and delicious. We ate at a picnic table on the patio but indoor...More

Whilst spending a week in Boston, Massachusetts felt the urge to catch The Downeaster train to Portland, Maine. The main purpose of the trip was to sample Lobster for which Maine is noted. Emie and I asked a couple of locals where they would eat...More

We asked our hotel staff for a great place to have our first ever Maine lobster dinner, and they suggested The Porthole, in downtown Portland. It's right on the water, with an entrance down a short alley. We were seated right away, and the fisherman...More

Really fresh seafood. We had a great waitress that made the meal even that much more fun. Great location.

Really enjoyed the experience at Porthole. I liked the side street location and the feel of the interior. The staff was very friendly and the service was quick. I had the steamer - Clams - Outstanding!

A vety casual restaurant, a bit difficult to find, as it is out on the dock, behind other restaurants. The place does not look very fancy, but to get two lobsters for 24,95 was a really good deal. And they were absolutely delicious!

This restaurant is as close to the water as you can get. Food was very fresh and fast, and the service was genuine and friendly. Would highly recommend for a fresh lunch but I'm sure they have a wonderful dinner service also.

We were here on our anniversary and “splurged” for the twin lobster meals - perfection! We had to wait a bit to sit by the water but it was totally worth the wait. We had an amazing server, Allison, who took great care of us....More

We usually go to J’s Oysters for steamers and chowder, but wanted to give The Porthole a try since it’s been around so long as was also on DDD...big mistake. The steamers were of all different sizes, some absolutely huge (and not thoroughly cooked-yuck), some...More

they do, but this time of year, the deck is hot and crowded. it's probably more about what your dog can endure, rather than what the restaurant allows.
