Came back to 555 after dining there years ago and having a great experience. Good, but a bit disappointed. Ordered a glass of red wine which had clearly come from a bottle that had been opened for quite some time. To the server's credit, he brought over a bottle and opened it in front of me and poured another glass.... More

Thank you for taking the time to critique 555. It is so important for us to learn when we have not done our jobs 100 percent correctly. We will address the temperature issue in our kitchen meeting immediately, I am truly sorry that happened, there is nothing more disappointing than having your steak cooked incorrectly. Although we certainly should have... More

First off, I cannot fully express here how great this restaurant is. I have been to more expensive or prestigious ones that fell short in comparison. If I could afford it and lived a bit closer, I would go here much more frequently. Staff- Immaculate. The waitress was engaging and helpful. The bus-person (very nice lady) was more than attentive... What kind words! The staff so enjoyed reading your review. They work hard to make our guests feel welcome and it means a lot to them when they know they have accomplished just that. Regards, Michelle Corry, Proprietor More

They offer 5 courses meal for 65 which was a steal. Food was decent, oysters were fresh and scallops were made perfectly except my boyfriends steak was overdone.

Really enjoyed my meal at this restaurant. The staff were very friendly and attentive and the food was exactly what I wanted. The hangar steak was very tender, excellent fries and that was after a wonderful goats cheese salad. Nice selection of wine too. Wonderful ambience in the centre of Portland.

Celebrating our anniversary in Portland, Maine, , we chose Five Fifty Five and we were not disappointed. The staff was wonderful, prompt and attentive. The food, coming from a well run kitchen, was delicious (although a bit salty, however). We were treated to a couple of special treats because of our anniversary-which was very thoughtful. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Informed the restaurant that we would be celebrating our anniversary. As we were seated, there was a congratulatory sign and then waitress provided us with a glass of champagne. Service throughout the evening was spot on as well. My wife had the bosc pear salad that she said was wonderful...and my ceviche appetizer with pieces of crisp apple was perfect... More

We heard from the locals to try 555, and now I know why. It was delicious. From the bread and butter to the desert, it was all simply delicious. Best meal in Portland so far.

We had the 5 - course meal for a very reasonable $65 per person. Wine list was good as were the cocktail selections. There is also a chef's choice 7- course meal - but you do not have choices on this menu, so it is for the adventuresome. Table next to us had this and it looked delicious also. We... More

We met old friends for dinner at this classy restaurant and it was so much fun. I don't know what it is with me and red brick walls but it feels so inviting to dine in such an environment. Service was excellent and I really enjoyed their signature dish of truffled lobster macaroni and cheese on such a rainy evening.... More
