There are very good restaurants that once you've eaten there, you aren't particularly eager to return. Fore Street is certainly not one of those! I can't wait to go back. We drove 20 miles from Brunswick for dinner there, and it was worth every mile....More

We had a delicious dinner at Fore St. in Portland! I had halibut and it was great! My husband had a sirloin and he loved it. The sourdough bread freshly made from the bakery below the restaurant was yummy!! The waiter was very pleasant and...More

Delicious seafood and meat restaurant. Delightful salad with mushrooms and herbs. Scallops were delicious. Really interesting menu. Wonderful service. My first visit to Portland and I am coming back.

Fine dining... but that's it -- just fine. Not amazing. Not what the pricetag would suggest. This place certainly presents itself as "upscale" through its decor, service, and prices on the menu. And, while the atmosphere was very nice, and the service was sufficient, the...More

Overall we were pretty disappointed. This was our anniversary so we wanted a nice place. Fore Street has a beautiful old world charm to it with an open kitchen. The food was fantastic! But the experience wasn't. First you have to settle up at the...More

Shame on you. Your reservation policy stinks. Walked in at 5:30pm for a party of two. No tables had been seated. Restaurant was empty. Bar was partially filled. We were informed no walk-ins available until 7pm. It's not unusual for me to spend $300 on...More

Hi All: RE:"....bakery downstairs...", from T.M.'s review, does that mean one must maneuver stairs to have supper; if so, how many (or is there an elevator)? Also, curious about distance from parking to front door (+/- Handicap. pkg. spaces)? Finally....are there cushioned seats available? ~Thank you one & all~

The dress code was "casual" but we saw everything from "all dressed up" (formal) to relaxed-casual but neat. Hope that helps. Enjoy!

I have no idea if they do or not, but the wait staff is very knowledgeable and if they don't know they will inquire for you.
