Went with two friends this noon for lunch at Veranda. I love the old-fashioned, somewhat funky room with lots of dark wood. Friendly folks. Comfortable seating. Best of all: fried flat noodles, spiced just as I asked, with perfectly cooked tofu, the tofu itself exactly the way I like it texture-wise. They're open all day, and we wanted to sit... More

I work at a large hospital in Portland (which shall remain unnamed to protect the innocent), and it was my birthday. All I wanted was some Vietnamese yumminess to celebrate. My coworkers and I hastily assembled our large order to make sure that we could call before they closed. I cannot begin to describe our disappointment (you don't want to... More

This place is where you go for real thai food. The staff is all asian, and are friendly. The food is made to order and the prices are reasonable. 5 stars

Being the Vietnamese food aficionados that we are we have tried most not all the Vietnamese restaurants in the Portland area. All have their strengths and weaknesses, All have their good days and off days but overall the quality is consistently good or better. We hadn't been back to veranda in a few years. We had stuck mostly with Huongs... More

The soup came out piping hot and so yummy we both burned our tongues because we couldn't wait. For dinner I had the Pad Thai spicy. The flavors were so layered and with... More

I have been here several times now, and generally like to take guests when they visit! Service is incredible. The crab Rangoon is the best in the biz. My most recent visit, I got the Tai (rare beef) Vietnamese Pho, which is a nice treat of a meal. I highly recommend this place, as it's a larger, nice big space,... More

Lunch options in the old port are a plenty but this place should not be missed. Great choices for all. Drunken noodles were outstanding and I cannot wait to go back

I love going to places like this because the pho is always delicious and they give you complimentary water and tea.

I love the wings and vermicelli. I get the same thing every time. I'm thinking of trying the ribeye a friend recommended . The oranges at the Nd are a nice touch
