Food is great but prices are high. Authenic Greek cuisine with excellent wine pairings, but not for anyone on a budget.

We arrived without reservations and were seated almost immediately owner and waitress were happy to fit us in. The food was amazing and the wine was too. Taramasalata and eggplant dip were the best I have ever had. Then we had Moussaka and Octopus and Spanakopita OMG....Service was excellent, cant remember the waitress name but she is a red head....goos... More

I took my wife to Emilitsa's this past Friday night and it was absolutely amazing. From the appetizer's (scallops and a salad) to the best piece of lamb I ever had. And my wife could not stop talking about the Halibut. Aside from the amazing food, the service was fantastic and the hospitably of the owner was incredible. Thank you... More

How I wish I could give this restaurant the 5 stars it's food deserves! The night we dined, There were timing issues in the kitchen and we waited a ridiculously long time to be served. Our server was absent most of the time - maybe not wanting to explain why we were waiting so long - as a result we... More

This is definitely a splurge restaurant but that said the food is delightful and the service impeccable. They have a good range of wines and liquor. The restaurant is quiet and has a lovely atmosphere

Do not let the phrase "rustic Greek fare" fool you into thinking Emilitisa in Portland, Maine is simply another NYC-style Greek diner with average Greek staples - it is much more than that. For both a guest trying Greek food for the first time to those more experienced in the traditional cuisine of Greece, Emilitisa offers a standard of excellence... More

My dad recommended we go to this place, said he had been wanting to try it. I called for a last minute reservation day of and was lucky enough to be seated. Everything was perfect. Every bite of food was delicious, flavorful and superbly prepared. Octopus was the best I have ever had. Our waitress was sweet, attentive without being... More

Portland is a huge foodie town. There are so many great restaurants that it is hard to choose. However, Emilista is our number one favorite. Yes, it is Greek - but wonderful high cuisine Greek. Much of the menu is locally sourced but what is not may come directly from Greece - like the important stuff...olive oil, olives, feta. Our... More

If I reviewed for food alone or even the owner of this restaurant I would have given a Very Good or excellent. So I'll start with the positive - loved all my food including the fava bean puree with grilled pita, lamb sliders which were juicy & flavorful and the asparagus salad with whipped goat cheese. The owner stopped by... More

This impressed us as true cuisine-refined, traditional Greek food, based on recipes from the homeland. We had a wonderful dinner just from appetizers. This was our second time (now one year later) and it was even better than we remembered from the first time. We sampled the "harlaftis sliders" (ground lamb) which were richly flavorful, the "plevra arnou" (baby back... More
