Four of us (locals) were very excited to try the restaurant at the new Cliff House. The menu looked enticing, and the decor and ambiance were inviting. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. The waitress was rough around the edges; the drinks were unremarkable and weak; and the food was marginally good. For $300 plus dollars for four people, we expected more.

I like the new dining room and bar. The ocean views are always inspiring. Only had appetizers and drinks on this visit but the food was excellent and the service outstanding.

My wife and I went for Valentine's Day weekend. It was brutally cold in Maine that weekend, fortunately the hotel has such good restaurants and other options we didn't need to leave. The rooms are nicely updated with terrific views of the Atlantic. The pool is very nice and outdoor hot tub is great. It was 12 degrees that weekend... More

My sister and I visited some years ago but hadn't returned since its beautiful renovation. The spectacular cliff-side view has only been improved! Immediately upon entering the reception area, the three-story windows ahead offered a breath-taking vista of the cliffs, sparkling ocean and the distant horizon. The inviting seating area on this level is anchored by a blazing fireplace, and... More

We ate at Nubs, a comfortable, casual restaurant. The seafood was very good, especially the steamers and fish sandwiches. There's a great view out the windows of the ocean and the seaside grounds. We'd definitely go back.

The recently renovated Cliff House has two restaurants. Nubs Lobster House and The Tiller. After going over both menus, we chose the more formal Tiller. It is housed in a portion of what was the dining room and has the same tremendous views. The remodel is very well done with nautical to the max. The service was friendly, but not... More

Despite the breathtaking views of the ocean, the luncheon menu selection and execution was nothing short of ordinary. A lobster croque madame was delivered on burned toast and garnished with a very good bechemel sauce and a few bits of tough lobster. The grilled chicken and prosciutto with Dijon drizzle was tasty enough but nothing that we couldn't have found... More

The Tiller restaurant is part of the recently renovated Cliff House. The theme is nautical and really well done. Check out the knot pillows on the couches. We were seated at a table with a spectacular view overlooking the ocean and rocky shoreline. Frank served us our lunch and was helpful, knowledgeable and kind. We both ordered the fish sandwich...
