Completely happy with our food. My Sunset Roll with lemon and ponzu is something I'll be craving in the future. Our waitress was exceedingly adorable. Salmon nigiri melted in mouth. Nice. Sushi was clearly assembled with care. Very neat. Hot green tea is a tea bag in a mug, with a shared pot of hot water. $3 per person. Hmm.... More

Rolls were interesting and creative, but overcomplicated, and Nigiri so-so. Went for a break from Lobster, but should have done other choices in town.

ate there this weekend, absolutely amazing. We've eaten sushi at some of the top places in the country and Black is equally as good if not better. The quality of the fish was fantastic and the creativity on several dishes was refreshing. A must have is the house salad w/ crunchy salmon skin, a true delight for the palate. Overall... More

Our sushi cravings were totally satisfied tonight with a visit to Black. Mango Madness, Veggie Bling Bling, Double "J" - all excellent as expected. :) And house-made smoked salmon was to die for. I'm so happy to see other people discovering Black. Buzzy - salute to you for another great night! I know people will think I'm a plant or... More

I'm a bit of a sushi snob as I make sushi myself in catering. We ordered solely from the Chef's specialties. I was quite impressed by the freshness of the fish, the unique rolls, the availability of Japanese ingredients such as shiso leaves, and the chef's ability to accommodate us by creating some hand rolls that weren't on the menu!... Since we discovered Black in 2009 this is a must visit (at least once) every time we are in Ogunquit. William and Buzzy continue to produce excellent and creative sushi with a comfortable, low-key experience. This year we found the welcome addition of beer, wine and saki to the menu. We stopped by twice during our recent visit to Ogunquit... More
