A pretty average pub kind of setting. Friendly bartender and servers, average food/menu...good baked brie!

pros: selection of beer, fish sandwich--my husband says "its the best" (and he is picky!) comfort---don't feel crowded--bar has counter or booths. Dining area is sunny and relaxing. never experienced any negative vibes from the waitstaff! I've also branched out and tried the salads and have not been disappointed!

Great, well-lit tavern with medium-small bar but booths and outdoor seating if the weather is suitable. Food is good and they rotate their draft beers w/focus on local/Maine micro-brews.

I have eaten at the Publick House many times and it never disappoints! Outstanding selection of microbrews many of them local like Oxbow. The bartenders have excellent knowledge for recommendations. Don't miss the local Damariscotta River oysters which are outstanding! I have eaten oysters all over the country and these are the finest!!! The haddock sandwich is not only large,... More

We were staying in an inn nearby and went there to watch the Superbowl. We sat at the bar to watch the game. We had a big lunch and weren't that hungry, but everybody said the smoked pulled pork nachos were very good. They were delicious and a generous portion for a reasonable price. Drinks too were generous and reasonably... More

My last review as five star in 2011. We eat here occasionally and have seen a slow decline in variety and quality. We had a late lunch on this last occasion and while my reuben tasted fine it was not worth the $14 that was charged for it. My wife said her haddock sandwich was not fresh. She said the... More

I have been a few times, and it is a place to plan on visiting when you are in the area for a special meal, to be at the bar, or for a cup of tea.

Had a very enjoyable lunch here. Ordered the fish sandwich blackened and it was excellent. Also ordered a couple dozen raw oysters that were also very good. A little bit pricey but the quality of the food would make me want to return. Server did a nice job especially when she was asked for suggestions.

I had the best pulled pork sandwich I have ever eaten. My husband had a burger and said it was perfectly prepared.

A menu that makes you wish you were there with a busload of your friends so you could order everything - the pulled pork nachos are a don't-miss item. Great selection of beer and entertainment upstairs.
