Just a standard independent pizza and sandwich shop. The only thing special is the location -- next to the Island's only bathing beach.

It was very warm the day we were there and their ice cream hit the spot. A little more expensive than the main land but the scoops were very generous.
The Novelty has good food--sandwiches, pizza, and other casual foodstuff. Ideal for buying your lunch or snack and taking it on your hike to eat with a view. Beer and wine also available as package carryout.
I love the Novelty's BBQ chicken pizza, though it seems a bit pricey. The have a selection of beer, wine and an awesome blueberry soda.
I was amazed by the variety offered by this tiny place. Eat inside or out or take it to go hiking. Staff was very friendly, and save room for the homemade ice cream!
Who knew that on the tiny island of Monhegan you could get some of the best pizza ever!! By the slice or order one of the many combinations - top-notch! Also, great salads and sandwiches!
