My wife and I were out discovering new restaurants in Kittery Point. By shear luck we entered the Black Birch. The person who we thought was the hostess at first was extremely friendly. It turns out she was one of the owners and ended up...More

Black Birch is one of our 3 absolute faves on the Seacoast so reliably imaginative is this chef and company. Yes, it's small. Yes, it's reasonably priced. And yes, it's not easy to find. But find it you must and you will quickly understand why...More

I could say that the best restaurant in Portsmouth NH is actually in Kittery Maine - it would make some people mad but I wouldn't be all together wrong either. The Black Birch is...in a word...amazing. The deviled eggs - amazing The mac & cheese...More

We arrived about 4:15 to score a table, and started with the appetizer menu, the only one available before 5:00. Good ale, duck poutine, and the deviled eggs, of which there were three different versions, with the exact arrangement changing seasonally. By 4:45 people were...More

It gets busy on the weekend so get there early. Food excellent and beer selection not extensive but worthy. Nice area of town with other good shopping options.

We've been to Black Birch a few times. Once for restaurant week, a couple times for dinner, and another time for their Edible Seacoast dinner. The food is consistent and the staff is friendly. On a whole though, it doesn't beat out some of the...More

Set in a one story retired brick post office, The Black Birch has an unassuming exterior. The interior is modern minimalist balanced by reclaimed wood and hand blown glass lighting. Outdoors is a hidden gem of a beer garden.
