If you are looking for excellent food this is the place. They also have a good range of brews, so it doesn't matter if you are looking more for the brews than the food, you will be happy with both. Also definitely family friendly.

Excellent Cole slaw and good beer. The fish was good too but it's hard to screw up a deep fried piece of fish. The cole slaw was really good though. I only had a chance to try one beer and it was really good. Not...More

We visit the Liberal Cup often for their in house range of brews from Alewife ale to Bug Lager. The staff is friendly and aim to please , don’t forget the good bartenders. The menu range is from burgers, drunken pot roast and haddock, good...More

Had a great family dinner for sons birthday. Nice food selections to suit everyone’s taste. The haddock dinner is HUGE! Hangs off the side of the platter! All for under $12! Very busy in the summer, but they do take reservations.

I went here with friends on a very busy evening when the locals celebrate Halloween and have a pub crawl- the place was jam packed. I was hungry so I ordered the spinach artichoke dip- it came out piping hot in a fresh bread bowl-...More

The title says it all! Got a veggie burger and it tasted like play-dough. Servers were awesome though! To give them the benefit of the doubt, it may have just been THAT dish.

We are sorry to hear of your bad experience with the veggie burger. Most people enjoy our homemade ones. We hope you will come try us again!

I SO wanted to love this place. You walk in to an oh-so friendly crew (our server was a great guy and very attentive), fantastic old style pub ambience, eclectic menu choices and awesome on tap selections (with names like "Ex Wife: extra bitter") but...More

Great place with friendly service and delicious comfort food! Warm wooden atmosphere good for couples or families. Amazing fish and chips! Beer variety is good and fun - but not the best brews around.

Hi, Why don't you call and speak to the restaurant directly. Only they would know that answer.

The Liberal Cup Public House & Brewery in Hallowell, ME, is our take on the traditional English pub. Our mission is to provide a gathering place for our local friends and seasonal visitors to enjoy good food and drink. Like the pubs that dot the English countryside, The Liberal Cup is an inviting and cozy spot to bring family and friends. And while the draughts will conjure that familiar flavor of jolly ol’ England (ales and bitters being our specialty), we’re happy to brag that the food will not. Our award-winning chef has taken classic pub fare and elevated it with fresh, local ingredients. His daily specials highlight Maine's seasonal offerings and on the weekends he likes to turn The Cup into a gastropub with his haute and nouvelle cuisine creations.
