Great out of the ordinary food. Fresh to made with daily specials. My server Vanessa was very patient with me, but offered great advise on dinner and specials. Dry rub wings are awesome. Service was great for a busy snowy night. Great selection of micro...More

This is a chain of brew pubs however this location in Freeport seems to have a group of 'regulars' that give it the feeling of the old tv show 'Cheers' and makes you want to return time and time again. People of the Freeport area...More

Went on a Wednesday before Christmas, and wow it was busy, as was Freeport. We luckily got right in. Beer, pretty good. IPA not very happy, but good still. Food, all of us happy. We had meatloaf, haddock and burrito plus spinach dip. All very...More

Sometimes I just wish I liked beer, especially in a place like this that has SUCH a varied selection. I was also impressed by the menu, even though we weren't ready to eat more than chowder and the loaded nachos. The house made potato chips...More

I love Gritty's. Great beer, solid pub food, awesome outdoor play area for children. Four stars because it can be intensely crowded, not the cleanest (high chairs, for example), and the food is solid but not outstanding. For a bar you can take your kids...More

This is half pub half restaurant, not so much a brew pub, though their craft beers are good. It's got a decent atmosphere, the only negatives are the selection is very heavy on ales, and the servers aren't great at explaining what the cocktails are,...More

Description
Gritty McDuff's, Maine's Original Brew Pub specializes in hand-crafted English style ales and traditional and creative pub fare, in a friendly and fun atmosphere. Both Gritty's fine ales and the pubs have won countless "best of" awards through our twenty-six years of operation. Our standard brews are session beers, Gritty's Pub-Style Pale Ale, McDuff's Best Bitter, Black Fly Stout, allowing one to have multiple beers within a reasonable time period without overwhelming the senses. Our seasonal and varietal ale offerings are more adventurous, some with a higher ABV, and some with higher IBU. We brew a beer for all craft brew palates. For the diner, we offer traditional pub fare alongside not so traditional specialty items. Our pub-style long tables with benches easily accommodate parties of all sizes and add to the camaraderie.
