Mediterranean Kitchen is located on Main Street in Damariscotta, Maine. It's the only restaurant/cafe on that end of Main that offers hot prepared food on the run...the perfect spot for carry-out, a quick lunch, or dinner that is affordable. Pizza, gyros, salads, wraps, and my favorite...the Philly Cheesesteak Sub! The owner makes the bread daily himself. He apprenticed in a... More

Wife and I ate here on a beautiful day in November. We both had gyros and they were very good. Gyro meat was well seasoned and the sandwiches were really satisfying. An excellent value for sure because of the generous portions. The owners really enjoy visiting with their customers and make sure they are happy with their food. We would... More

We've been several times, and look forward to visiting again. The Gyros are fantastic but messy. Nick, the owner, is quite a character and will talk your ear off if you're into classic European cars and motorcycles. I am, so lunch takes awhile even though we hardly know each other. I lived in Greece for a couple years, so I've... More

The gyros, and the chicken edition, athenian wraps, are worth going to Damariscotta all by themselves. Very authentic, very tasty!

.I joke that we drive 720miles r/t for lunch at the Mediterranean Kitchen; but this New Yorker does get there as often as possible to tuck into their second to none Gyros...best I've had in years; the Hubby is a slave to the fantastic Philly Cheese steak! Nick, a wonderful character in his own Right, and Patricia run a great... More

While on vacation in coastal Maine, I saw reviews for Mediterranean Kitchen in Damariscotta. I was just over in Wiscasset and said "why not?" Boy, were you guys right. An unassuming little joint, Mediterranean Kitchen has a wide-ranging menu with huge gyros and good fries! It's right on the harbor and there were picnic tables off to the side where... More

In the mountain village of Kalavrita, on the Pelopennesus, I once had a perfect gyro. If you're a lover of this sandwich, you are probably looking for the perfect one, too. Today the gyro at this small place in the heart of oyster country came very close. The meat, and there was a lot of it, was wonderfully seasoned, and... More
