Great venue and very picturesque and well maintained pub in sleepy Thornton led Clay, family meal on A Saturday night pub was about half full - can't fault the service and overall we enjoyed our night at the Pondering it’s a local pub that falls a little between being a local village pub with some really good beers but on... We were on our way to our weekend away and wanted somewhere to eat. We looked at TA and saw the White Swan. Have to say what a find! I had the famous Steak and Ale pie which didn't disappoint and my wife had Whitby Scampi we finished with a portion to share of Sticky Toffee pudding with ice cream... More

Brought our cousin here from Devon and we weren't disappointed. We had fish and chips and two of us had the fabulous fish pie, lovely glass of Shiraz and White Swan bitter. Only had room for two tiny ice creams but both were lovely.Thank you for a great meal great friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere. We will be back.

My Wife started with Salmon and Roast Seasonal Veg, I had Duck, both were beautifully cooked and presented. For our main course we had Wild Boar Sausages and the Individual Game Pie, the Pie was full of succulent meat and the... More

Spontaneous lunch for 2. Perfectly balanced meal, beef was tender as only quality meat Prepared by quality hands can be. Full marks for gravy boat- my obsession. White Swan bitter was ace, Shiraz by the glass was very enjoyable. Good luck, keep up the standards. Thank you.

Visited today 30th October, it's been a few years since we had eaten here. It's gone through a internal transformation since our last visit. Very homely and friendly, a very nice atmosphere, excellent menu not overwhelming but a good choice of local dishes. I had the butternut squash soup as a starter which was excellent and my wife had the... More

Booked up the night before our visit. Met by friendly staff. Shame we were in the rear of the hotel away from the busier and more atmospheric lounge. The quality of the meal was first class and we were given a 20% Early Bird Discount on our food. Fantastic choice within the menu and tasted superb. Will definitely make a... More
