A group of longtime friends met here for lunch. I had the crab cakes which were delicious; made of almost all crab meat. Everyone else enjoyed their lunch selection. The service was awesome, as the waitress was very patient with our visiting for 2+ hours.

Great food and great decor. The crab cakes are really good. The crawfish bisque was okay. I had the fried frog legs and it was okay. It's not that the food is not good...it is!...just not the best I've had.

Rustic but pleasant interior; friendly staff, good service, usual amenities. Ordered the rib-eye with baked sweet potato and the crab dinner. Steak was above average: grilled right and tasty; yam was the best of the entire meal. Crab dinner was almost tasteless: "crab salad" was simple house salad with two or three crab flakes thrown in; gumbo was at best... More

The steaks were perfect as well as the sides and the service. The cocktails were also very good, what I was not so happy was the under cooked Pecan Pie, it did have a nice flavor but the pie after it was cut lay totally flat on the plate like it had died. The location is lovely and interesting. I... More

From the wait staff to the food it was awesome !!! So much food we split a crab platter and we were both full! It's not that far from New Iberia. But it is a little pricey. Two appetizer one cup of bisque crab platter, glass of wine, root beer and one desert to go. Our bill was $75. That's... More

We have always enjoyed the old St. John, this new location I believe has taken the great food and combined with an authentic rustic atmosphere that makes for a perfect evening of dining out. Seafood and steaks, both are my favorite. Not a great wine list, but they don't mind if you bring your own ( pay a corkage fee)... More

You will have to wait for an hour if you haven't got a table. the place is crammed with people in high spirits and that's the best part of it. Food is mostly local cajun but you can have steaks as well. Now, I'm no expert in cajun kitchen, but it seems to me it has the same traditional flavour... More

St. John has moved to a remodeled former pecan factory just around the corner from its original location. The food is the best in the area. The crab cake is unmatched. The steaks are top notch. We never miss the chance to take visitors to this gem in St. Martinville. Stop by and tell Chip hello. This is money well... More
