Was very impressed, lovely couple made us so welcome with a tray of tea & cake on our arrival .will defo be going back. Thankyou Carole & Philip. Lovely views & excellent breakfasts nothing to much trouble.
Visited for an evening meal as were staying in self catering accommodation nearby and the owner had recommended Cartref . They do not have a drinks licence so remember to take your own alcohol if required. The menu has a good range of dishes which...were cooked and served to a satisfactory standard. Good Value for money and Carole is a friendly and welcoming owner.More
The food was good, the service excellent and the welcome great. Although we were not staying at the B & B Carol very kindly cooked breakfast for us before we left for home. Would definitely visit again. Thank you Carol and all the very best...to your family, especially your grandson, enjoyed.More
You could easily miss this place as you drive past but it's well worth paying a visit. It's a small restaurant so booking is advisable. I visited with my wife and our two children. We each ordered something different but everything that was served was...absolutely delicious - a real treat and excellent value for money. Catref isn't licensed but you can bring your own wine if you wish.More
we were recommended to pay a visit by the in-laws. And i am glad we booked. we had a lovely time. and had the best lamb shank we have ever had, with homemade puddings. ticked every box for us. good food, nice environment, friendly staff....i would imagine as well in the summer months it would be a great place to stop for a coffee an cake while walking the hills, or a fizzy drink and a cheeky cake while cycling.More
My elderly parents and I visited this super tearoom, for lunch, a couple of times in our recent holiday in Pontrobert. The selection of soup, jacket ,potato ,sandwiches, cheese on toast etc was delicious and ideal for us. We were tempted by the menus to...come back for a home cooked meal in an evening. Cartref was a really friendly place and for my parents who were unable to travel far afield to one of the bigger towns or pubs it provided an excellent change from self catering in our holiday venue a few miles away.It was like an oasis in a desert for us.(having said that I would hardly call the lush area a desert ). In addition to being a place to eat it was also like a mini tourist information centre with some leaflets and books about the local area. The collection of brass signs appealed to me as well .All in all I would heartily recommend this delightful place.More
brilliant little tea room and evening meals are great all homemade food highly recommended carol and phil are very nice people
We set off from Shropshire to visit Lake Vyrnwy, avoiding main roads and using country lanes and byways. We were therefore not expecting to find anywhere for lunch, so to come across this delightful Tea Room by accident was wonderful. We had a lovely snack...lunch (Welsh cheese on toast, scone with jam and butter, tea and coffee), served by the charming owner, and at amazingly good value for money. Please visit this establishment!More
We stayed at the Lake Hotel and Spa, and decided to eat out. We booked and got lost finding the place in the dark! On our way back home the following day, we decided to have another go at finding this perfectly presented tearoom while...there was still light. We were so glad we did! Phillip and Carol, what a Lovely Couple, their place is spotlessly clean. And the food! The prices of the food does not reflect the quality in any way. For just a few pounds we got beautifully home cooked meals, a lovely pud, and a lovely informative chat about the local area. The tearoom IS perfectly signposted, it was just my night driving not up to par. And thankyou Carol, we had a safe trip back to the south coast.More
