We had dinner here based on the reviews. Old family house, bit dirty and around 6-8 tables. No alcohol served. Food was good but simple, price, around 10 USD per person was okay. People are nice and parking is no problem.

The daily specials are the way to go! Food was excellent, service was excellent, and the atmosphere was spot on! Hoping for an excuse to stop by in one day soon. :)

We chose to eat here based on trip advisor and recommendation of hotel clerk. As previously stated it is in an old house, no frills, just the food. Grilled crab patty was unique and freshly prepared daily. Shrimp were huge and tasty. Oysters and fish were good. Everything was lightly breaded. We also had gumbo and it was good and... More

The burgers are my favorite! I have tried the fried pork chops & red beans. I really like the pork chop too.

Rita Mae's is the top ranked restaurant in Morgan City. Not sure if this says a whole lot about Rita Mae's or a whole lot about the competition. At any rate, the food is very good, not great. I had a cup of seafood gumbo: spicy hot, generous serving, good. Fried catfish: generous serving, again good but not great. The... More

Who dat is right!! Best little out of the way place to eat in Louisiana so far!! Food was great...we will make this our regular stop every time we make it to the Morgan City area. The only drawback was..... I got to full to eat my sweet potato pie 😞, oh well...can you say, midnight snack??

Food and service are awesome, but make sure you remember that good food takes time. Be prepared for a little wait!

Description
Rita Mae's Kitchen in Morgan City, LA is a quaint but amazing dining experience worth trying. Their famous chicken stew is unparalleled anywhere in anywhere in the South. Its inexpensive, incredibly food with a very loyal clientele. This may be one of Morgan City's best kept secrets. I'm back home in Washington State right now wishing I was there getting ready to tear into a plate of their food.
