Fun place to get good local food, especially fried specialties like soft shell crab, fish, shrimp... The place is often crowded, so you may have to wait on the weekend. It's a large place so don't expect an intimate, romantic dinner. Don't expect to lose...More

The oyster po boy was pretty good. I called my food in to go. The to go orders are picked up in the bar. It took the bartender (with an empty bar) a good five minutes to acknowledge me and actually walked past me a...More

Got chargrilled oysters to compare to Drago's. They were tasty but not as good: Acme = 8, Drago's = 10 Gumbo and mixed grill both good. Again, not as good as Drago's. Good location. Worth a visit for sure. They take the credit card off...More

Always takes awhile to get in but its always worth the wait. Salad was delicious, gumbo (chicken) and combo dinner was fantastic! Service was also excellent even though I know they were extremely busy every time I've been.

The oyster bar is so much fun. The guys were very entertaining. It was typical of most places and the food and service is good.

This was the best food on our short trip. We had oysters, grilled and raw. I had something that was so good I wanted to eat my lips!! Then we split a bowl of bread pudding with ice-cream. Delicious!!!

Words cannot describe the flavor of this signature dish at Acme Oyster House. It is without a doubt heaven-on-earth. Whenever I return to Metairie, I will always make time for a return visit. Friendly staff, reasonable prices and family friendly.

Do they have a carry out menu or delivery service? We are staying just a block or two away and would love to order and dine in our room.

Ready314 put it right, there are numerous good seafood restaurants in Metairie. A acme is very good and less expensive than most. If you like Gumbo, try chef's Ron Gumbo. It's harder to find but well worth it.
