Very nice French bistro restaurant. The location is within a residential area which made it quaint, comfortable and relaxing. The food was remarkable and the service was quality. Nice place for a date night or to experience an elegant night out for a special occasion.

Chateau du Lac is a hidden gem in Old Metairie. One of my favorite restaurants in New Orleans & I'm local. Incredible menu and staff.

We live a few blocks from this restaurant, but continue to pass it by as it has been many things over the years. Finally, we wanted a new restaurant experience close to home, and thought we'd give it a go. OMG! What we have been missing! Upon walking in, we were struck with a quaint, subdued atmosphere. Our food was... More

Chateau Du Lac Bistro is owned by a Frenchman, who is also the Chef. This is immediately obvious when you step through the door in this suburban New Orleans gem. The menu and ambience are typical of a small French restaurant anywhere in France. I have been going to New Orleans on business for more than 30 years and stumbled... More

We make reservations each year for July 14th, it's kind of like Cinco de Mayo - New Orleans style. The food is authentic French cooking and excellently balanced. The clientele, well it's New Orleans and we do like to dress up. Last time we were in a room filled with Marie Antoinette's. This year it was a bit more subdued... More

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at Chateau Du Lac Bistro on Metairie Road last night. We were looking for a quaint, unusual place and this bistro was perfect. The rustic bistro in a strip shopping center on Metairie Road reminded us of our trip to France a few years ago. The owner/chef of the bistro is from Brittany,... More

Mother's Day outing for 6 turned well enough but I found the food not to be the commensurate with the prices. 3 Sea Scallops for about $30? Tasty but another couple scallops would have been nice. They offered a "Teres Major" on the menu without further description...it is a shoulder cut of beef supposedly nearly as tender as a filet.... More

Don't waste your time or money. $16 for a side salad with 3 medium sized shrimp. Creme brûlée so burnt and warm it was inedible and more like the consistency of soup. Probably won't be back.

Chateau du Lac is heavenly. The drinks, food, atmosphere-- all perfect! We had only been here for banquets, so we visited early Tuesday evening. Our server took time to answer questions and even provided a few before we asked, so we had the best dining experience. My husband's filet and my red fish were delicious. I enjoyed the vegetables served... More
