We decided to stop for lunch on a lovely sunny day and found ourselves welcomed into this lovely pub/restaurant with an appetising menu. We took a seat in the pleasant garden and had the fish platter and ox cheek dishes which surpassed expectations and were presented beautifully. We had a great time and felt welcome throughout. I would definitely recommend... More

Fabulous selection of wines, gin and whisky. Beautifully presented food. Not cheap but worth every penny. Helpful staff. Proprietor excellent and knew his business. Very clean and tidy establishment. Not on the main road. Voted Pub of the Year. Looking forward to booking for Christmas.

I regularly visit this place for lunch. Fish item is the best. You can share the plate and is value for price. Staffs are polite and friendly. Good atmosphere and great food. Highly recommended.

The problem with awards is that you have to live up to your reputation and you certainly didn't. Landlady wasn't very apologetic and looked like she didn't really care, a smile might help. Food arrived at 10pm, everyone just wanted to go home not eat. Very short of staff and was not worth the price tag. The wine was very... More

Arrived at the Fur and Feathers twenty minutes before the kitchen was due to close. We were greeted by cheerful staff who apologised because they were unable to offer us a comfortable table. Ten minutes later, a 'no show' provided us with a perfect table in the busy, buzzy room. The food was simply gorgeous! Beautifully prepared and cooked with... More

I have eaten in the Fur and Feather many times over the last 9 months. The food is truly excellent and the hospitality has been superb. The overall ambiance of the surroundings and the courtesy of the staff is without a key point for me. My colleagues and I held our Christmas dinner (54 people) there and it was a... More

Visited 04/04/2017 in a group of 10, unfortunately there was other groups dinning which seem to make the service very drawn out. On saying that the food was very good as usual and will go back again.

We ended our tour with lunch at Fur and Feathers. The atmosphere is calm and inviting. The food is absolutely delicious. Don't pass up the local cheese appetizer, nor their desserts!

Second visit, nice welcome, friendly and willing service which, this time, was accompanied by some really tasty local produce. The smoked trout linguine was sublime and I could have enjoyed another plateful for main course but followed it with a Guinea fowl, braised leeks and a lemon/thyme risotto. The meat was great albeit I could have had it a little... More

We rang the pub at the last minute trying to get a table for Friday night they were very accommodating and found us a table. The atmosphere was very relaxed, the staff were very attentive and friendly and we didn't have to wait long for our order to be taken, or even for our food to come out, good quality... More

Description
An individual, independent family owned and run free house.
Daily changing menu cooked with local ingredients when available. We are able to source world award winning cheese, lamb, eggs and game when in season from our village.
We have four real ale pumps and sell at least two local ales at all times alongside Sharp's Doom Bar. We have a large wine list, many served by the glass and an extensive Gin & Whisky offering.
The building is Victorian with huge windows and high ceilings and heated by two log burners throughout winter, for the summer we have a large garden with patio area seating with our resident chickens for entertainment.
