Food is ok but nothing like true cajun cooking. Very over rated and very expensive. It a great place for tourist.

Ate there today. I ordered the crab overload, which included fried soft shell crab over (what was supposed to be crab), crab meat agratin and a crab cake with crawfish sauce. The sofshell crab was good. I had to dig for any amount of crab. Didn't even have a crab taste. I'm from Ville Platte, La., but live in Boston... More

Traveling north out of Lafayette we stopped at Prejeans's as it is highly rated on TripAdvisor. We weren't disappointed. The atmosphere seemed a bit hokey (spanish moss hanging from the ceiling and so on) , but the food was good and the service was excellent.

My wife and I recently stayed overnight in Lafayette. Based on a recommendation from the hotel manager, we went to Prejean's for dinner. The atmosphere was more than a bit hokey with the goal of providing that down home Cajun experience. It felt more contrived than real. They did have music, as they do every night. The music was pretty... More

I am a local, and I also work in the tourism industry and send tons of people to Prejean's. Now, I'm embarrassed. First we were sat right next to the kitchen doors. Then our waiter took forever to even greet us. He took our drink order and returned with then pretty quickly. We each ordered an salad. One Green Goddess... More

Enroute to and from NOLA , my wife and I stopped for dinner at Prejeans. Had a cup of the gumbo on both visits. Accompanied by rice and a warm delicious roll, we agreed this might be the best Chicken/Sausage gumbo we have had in years. It sure beat any we tried in New Orleans! Fresh black drum was very... Our table for 9 ordered a variety of items. My husband ordered the sirloin medium rare and our adult son ordered the toast points side dish. Both came to us overdone. The toast was obviously burned. The steak was medium well at best. Since we were willing to accept that my husband may have inadvertently ordered the steak medium well... More

Way back when I was in college, in central Louisiana, we would often pass Prejean's as we were going home for the weekend and returning to school. I always wanted to try it, but we were never in the vicinity until quite recently. To be honest, I had it in my fuzzy memory that it was a seafood restaurant, but... More
