This restaurant is an experience! Tucked away in sleepy Lacombe is the pearl of provincial cooking! Went with my brother and wife. My brother had the puppy drum, wife had the duck and I had the rack of lamb. We started with the sausage board. Jagerwurst, andouille sausage and boudin. Delectable! The food came piping hot and was succulent and... More

A really nice meal. We all had a brunch menu item. The only knock was that a few items we wanted were out( prime rib and puppy drum). The service was outstanding by Miranda. The nice farm to table experience was just what we wanted. The brunch menu included mussels for first course( which were very tasty). The main course... More

It was extremely quiet the night we visited (a Thursday) with just two tables occupied. The food was impeccable. The drum entree was the least expensive entree on the menu, but typifies why I love to eat in the New Orleans area. All our dishes were excellent. There was a nice, varied wine list with some reasonably priced wines. It's... More

A really superb experience over the lake in Lacombe, and hour north of NOLA. Not cheap, but worth it. The decor is similar to that of the local restaurants in the Loire valley. The food is really top drawer. Our first time was this past November and we'll be there in April.

Had the luxury of dining at this restaurant for my birthday... it was a fantastic brunch experience. The food was so fresh and well prepared. Had the shrimp and grits and could not have been more pleased with my selection. The turtle soup was outstanding. This restaurant truly reminds you of being in the French countryside – complete with fireside... More

First I must thank Dale Harvey, Chef Loose and the wonderful wait staff at LaProvence. Everyone at the LaProvence went above and beyond helping me plan a retirement brunch for a co-worker. It was well received by all of the guest and the Honoree. This is a beautiful restaurant. The service and the food was impeccable! Sorry I am so... More

Making reservations exactly two months prior to our Christmas dinner experience, reading every review of the restaurant and then reviewing the posted Christmas Tasting Menu, led us to believe La Provence was the perfect Christmas dining experience. We choose Nola for a six day culinary visit from the tiny island we live on in the West Indies.....sounds magical? We arrived... More

Early Christmas Dinner with family made this day perfect. Blessing of Jesus topped with superb food and great company. Pleasant staff with prompt and professional service. Appetizers to deserts were excellent. Dinner dishes were pork and goose. Turtle soup and blue crab bisque were second to none.

I had a wonderful birthday dinner at this restaurant. The restaurant had the fireplaces going to emphasize the farmhouse feel. I had the octopus to start with puppy drum and crab meat as a main. I was a little disappointed in the lack of drink choices/creativity.

La Provence is one of the loveliest restaurants in the New Orleans area, and the food is among the best of any of John Besh's restaurants. Our meal began with a glass of Prosecco each to accompany the complimentary house-made pate and toast rounds. Next, we split a special appetizer of octopus over squid ink pasta, a recommendation of our... More
