The restaurant is in a beautiful building well decorated with great lighting. Just a really nice atmosphere. The service was fine. But the food was disappointing. We ordered the avocado toast with tuna and yuzu to start. It was cold and had stong soy sauce flavor. Maybe just not my thing- not a sushi fan. But the filet mignon entree... More

Located in a old house in downtown Hammond this restaurant offers some of the best ambiance that you could wish for. Old wood burning fire places inside with a wonderful large patio outdoors. And the Food is exceptional. You can't go wrong going here.

My husband and I were looking for romantic location to go to for our anniversary celebration. A friend of ours told us about Jacmel's in Hammond. We decided to try it out - finding the place was a little challenging since it's a home that has been converted into a restaurant, but we eventually found it. We were there for... More

Have always looked forward to this restaurant-no more! The gumbo was canned beef soup. The flounder(?) was two inches thick. It was bone dry. The herbs or seasoning were terrible, some taste I would expect from a Asian restaurant. I am not sure of the bread, even it didn't seem the same, although I doubt they change that.

In Jacmel's long history there have always been brief moments of downs in food quality but decidedly much more ups. It is in a great upward climb once again After a bit of a shake up in the kitchen and new, very experienced chef has been added and he is turning out some wonderful plates of the food Jacmel has... We have never been disapointed with anything from here. My Partner is a vegetarian and they can always accommodate him. Wait staff is wonderful and the brunch is wonderful.

Jacmel is almost an institution in Hammond so my expectations were somewhat high. It surprised some locals that I went with at just how few people were at their Sunday brunch. One of the waiters let slip that there had been a wholesale exodus of the kitchen staff just a few days before. Evidently the new "cooks" had the recipes,... More

The new Chef, Paul , is a wonder in and out of the kitchen. He nis a very talented chef, who is not afraid to step out into the dining room or bar and discuss his menu . He not only talks, but listens as well. His new menu ideas abound with great bar fare like lamb lollipopps, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. The... More

We dined here for Easter Lunch with approximately 8 people. I hadn't been here for a year and the last time I ate it was good but not this time. I'm not sure if they were understaffed but the service was lacking and the meal for at least half of us was terrible! To start off there was a girl... More

We had a wonderful lunch here. The BBQ shrimp with grits and gouda cheese was outstanding. Salads are also wonderful. Service was professional and the setting in an old house with a fountain and patio in back is delightful. Wish we'd have room for dessert, but we'll just have to go again. This is a lovely restaurant with a good... More
