I've always liked this restaurant. The only downside is it's so quiet. If you were having a conversation the whole place can hear you. If you were looking for a quiet restaurant, this is the place to do it. I have also used the private room and it was absolutely awesome. The brie soup is by far the best thing... More

I took a group of 20 business friends to lunch here. The atmosphere was perfect and everything was perfect. They have separate rooms to accommodate groups. You can even have dinner in the wine cellar room. The service is first class and so is the food. With a group of 20 we tried almost everything on the menu and there... More

Wow - our first time to Dakota and what a treat. BBQ shrimp and mussels appetizer was amazing. Our table had the grouper, duck, and lamb neck, and all were cooked to perfection. The crème brule banana spilt was an interesting twist on an old favorite. The service was incredible. Can't wait to return...

Chef Paul was fantastic! I drove all the way from galveston Texas just to eat at the dakota restaurant because of my last experience. And it was without a doubt worth the drive. I am very picky and demand great service. Chef paul made me an unbelievable foie gras. The vegetarian dish that he prepared for me was out of... More

We were travelling from Montreal to Covington and stop for dinner to Dakota restaurant .Oysters with truffle parmesan, crabmeat on surprising brie soup, shank of lamb and cafe au lait duck : everything was really tasty and savory. Large selection of wine . Thanks enough for the delicate attention at the end of our experience .

I've frequented this place many many times since it opened several years ago....I believe in the late 1980's early 1990's. Every visit has been superb!!! Professional knowledgeable wait staff and the food is fabulous. Lunch always has tasty specials however, my favorite is the crabmeat havarty dill sandwich..... it is loaded with crabmeat and a must to try if you... More

The service here and food were stellar. I've waited years to eat here and was not disappointed. The homemade chips and bread brought to the table were amazing. The candied cornbread I could have eaten a whole loaf... We had business lunch menu... shrimp remoulade and chicken piccata were very good. We also had the crab grilled cheese which was... More

It had been many years since I'd eaten here. I had an appetizer with a combination of mussels and shrimp in a N.O. BBQ shrimp sauce that was incredible and a beet salad. Coconut cake for desert was also very special.

This place needs a good cleaning. Ladies room was run down, locks don't work, dust on top of stall walls. Halfway through dinner we were greeted by two cockroaches crawling across the dining room. Food was okay but many better options on the Northshore. Not worth the hype or the price.
