I came here with my fiancée after visiting Mammoth Cave. The service was excellent, and the pulled pork sandwich was delicious. If I was ever in the area again I would definitely go back and would recommend it for a quick bite to eat.

All you can eat fried catfish! Fried okra, excellent! Good sweet tea. The Fetching Mrs. Rat and I ate the same thing this visit. She was happy with the catfish, normally she does not do fried fish. The breakfast buffet is pretty good, you will not go away hungry! Service is friendly. Lots of "hon" and "sweetie" but the food... More

Food was okay, service was decent - what really killed the meal was the cigarette smoke. Very unpleasant if you're a non-smoker.

We had pulled pork sandwiches and the kids had chicken strips. Everything was fine. No complaints other than the chain smoking locals. Hard to believe we used to smoke in restaurants like that back in the day. It really distracts from your meal. Very nice people. It was that or the cracker barrel again. Not many decent dining options around.

The diner came recommended as a great place for BBQ so we went since it was not far from Mammoth Cave National Park where we were staying. What a disappointment! The only thing that was fresh was the iced tea. The pulled pork sandwich had not been reheated all the way through - parts were still cold not lukewarm. This... More

Had breakfast after saying at Mammoth Cave Hotel and not pleased with Travertine. Heard from others that this was a good local place "just down the road". First the food was great. Eggs with biscuits and gravy were excellent. Others had French toast that was perfect as well. Felt like we took a giant step back in time on walking... More

Pulled pork sandwich was so-so. Sauce was too sweet. Onion rings were frozen, not fresh. Salad was quite good. Very friendly service was quick. However the cigarette smoke was gagging and deeply embedded in everything. We should have taken out.

My husband and I love to visit small towns and find the family owned, country restaurants to eat at. The kind of place locals will go to. This restaurant was perfect. Excellent service, friendly, welcoming feel. The food was really good. I had Catfish strips that were excellent. My husband had the Roast Beef Manhattan which was roast beef on... More

This little gem off of the beaten path was referred by one of the park rangers. Once he stated "locals eat here", I knew I wanted to go. We stopped in for lunch and had the catfish. It was tasty! Great sweet tea and the service couldn't have been nicer. One of the locals jokingly offered to pose for a... More

Our Innkeepers at the B & B where we stayed a few years ago recommended this place. We liked it so much we, had dinner 2 days in a row. This year we came back and visited with Calvin and Ramona. We had the Pulled Pork Dinner and were not disappointed. Everything is homemade. The sweet tea refills kept coming.... More
