For once, I think I got the entire review in one headline. This restaurant - on the fourth floor of the Landmark Hotel - was kind of a typical Mexican restaurant. There was nothing on the menu you wouldn't find at another restaurant. The food...was solid, hot, well portioned. Absolutely no complaints. Service was above average. Prices were more than fair, especially given the serving size. Wait staff was very attentive. Manager went through the restaurant several times just making sure everyone was being taken care of. I'd definitely try again - but I'd also love to see them be more creative with their food.More

We eat here quite frequently and have never had a bad experience. The food and service are consistently awesome. We love going here for a date or getting take out. Best Mexican restaurant in town!

Located on 4th floor of Landmark Inn. Park in back and take elevator up. Decorated very nice. We had nachos fajitas and chimichanga. The food was great and we were served very fast. We will definitely go back!

The so called "El Azul Grande" experience was one to remember for me. The staff was very nice and the chips and salsa were fairly good as well. I have eaten here several times and every time I get the shrimp nachos. Well every time...I eat the shrimp, about 30 minutes later I get this awful urge to poop. I'm not sure if this happens to everyone but the poop is just absolutely awful. It horrifies me to even think about eating shrimp now. I almost didn't make it to the restroom last time I ate it. I go into stores and the sight or smell of shrimp just gives me the runs. My stomach will never be the same, and when the shrimp hits the belly, it's like an atomic bomb is released in the bowels. Overall though, good experience, Take your family and you'll have a good time!More

El Azul is my go-to Mexican restaurant in Pikeville. Best chicken nachos on the planet. I’ve never been disappointed. Service is outstanding and the food is great!

This restaurant has been a staple in the city for decades. Always the place for a great meal and the owners and staff are quite possibly the best group in town for hospitality! The staff are like family members to everyone that frequents this establishment....I highly recommend their Margaritas (of course) and my fall back is Pollo Bandido! If you are in Pikeville, don’t pass this one up!More

I was in KY for work and I was so pleasantly surprised by how yummy this place was. I had the Mexico flag enchilada plate and it was so delicious. The chicken was a little dry but I didn’t mind with all that sauce I...could add to it. I had the guacamole too which was very plain and could use some more seasoning but overall would go back.More

Pros: Really fast service, good value for the price Cons: Not really a con, but I found nothing special about the food. Typical Mexican food you can find at any other restaurant. I wish they had something to differentiate themselves from the rest, like fresh...guacamole dip, or maybe top shelf Margaritas, or even a better selection of beer on tap.More
