Food was good. Wine was good but expensive. I wish there had been more selection in the $80-100 range per bottle. Server kept forgetting to bring things we ordered. We were not in a hurry but 3.5 hours for dinner was way too long.

We celebrated our 30th anniversary with dinner in the English Grille where we got engaged. Nothing has changed in all that time. The atmosphere is elegant "Old South" with the beautiful wood paneling and paintings of horses throughout. And soft piano music wafting in from...More
Madame and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at the English Grill -- our first since a visit in 2012, I believe -- on a recent Monday evening. The establishment was busy in its quiet and measured way, yet we ended up with a great corner...More
Delicious fine dining is the theme of this classic restaurant. Located in the equally fine and classic Brown Hotel, it fits with its surroundings. It;s great for a special occasion.
This was a top shelf experience from the moment of entry to the moment of departure. We went there so my wife could have the Hot Brown-a dish that originated with this hotel. Being from the Pacific Northwest, I had to stay true to my...More
Our first dinner in Louisville was at the English Grill, since we were staying at the Brown Hotel. The restaurant decor is consistent with the hotel; you feel you're back in the days of Al Capone. Our waiter was the perfect mix of light conversation,...More

Had cocktails and dinner in the Grill. Martinis and Old Fashioneds were delightful after a very long day of driving. The restaurant is beautiful, warm, elegant and very inviting. Hot Brown was everything delicious one has heard about, and more! A very special evening.More

We were staying at the Brown and had dinner here the first night. The main draw was the Hot Brown Sandwich (which we had) since it was invented at the Brown in 1926 and is a Louisville tradition. The service was excellent and the food...More

Honestly, this is the best date night we have had in a while (and I work in NYC). The hotel is historic and gorgeous. The lounge (with live music) is like stepping back into the '30s, with deep mahogany tones, exquisite but not overdone decor,...More
